Erzengel's rating

   AROMA 9/10   APPEARANCE 4/5   TASTE 9/10   PALATE 4/5   OVERALL 19/20
Erzengel (8763) - Wuppertal, - MAR 30, 2012

Clear amber-ish color with a fine off white head that leaves a lovely lacing on the sides of the glass. Caramel, mild bready and herbal aroma. Ok body and a fine carbonation. A bit bready, caramel malty, herbal and mild citric flavor.
[Bottle from a trade with Erzengel]

Bottle received in Euroswap 1, 2015. Pours clear amberish golden with a frothy offwhite head that leaves some sparse spotty trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty and slightly floral with biscuits, bread, hay, minerals and lemon peal. Taste is sweet, bitter, slightly floral and tiny easrty with biscuits, caramel, golden syrup, hay, minerals and lemon peal. Mouthfeel is soft, round, very tiny astringent and medium bodied. Finish is sweet and tiny bitter with biscuits, caramel, hay, minerals and lemon peal. Simple yet drinkable amber lager.

McTapps (6889) - Reutlingen, GERMANY - SEP 3, 2014
Bottle from the brewery. Pours out in an amber-brown colour with low steady head and medium body. Aroma of malt and barley. Taste of barley, vanilla, caramel, light malt, mild hops and leaves, Floral-vanilla finish. Nice one.

Beer from my hometown brewery. Lovely amber colour but it doesn’t really live up to the expectations that it creates. Not much aroma but quite smooth. Don’t need to have another one. I’d prefer Hövels.
