Supermarket Own Label beer that used to be brewed by Pivovary Vratislavice until they merged with Prague Breweries. The beer is now made at the Staropramen Brewery. Outlets involved in selling this beer under their own label include: Waitrose, Tesco, Somerfield, Gateway, Thresher, Co-op and United North West.
Since Vratislavice merged with Staropramen the supermaket "Czech Lager" own label brands, if showing 5% abv, may well be the regular Staropramen (which on RateBeer is termed "Staropramen Ležák (Premium Lager) 12")

This lager has some taste and I always like a couple of lagers in the house for when I’m in the mood and this one fits the bill as an ok supermarket lager at good price

redders1974 (1627) - Greater Manchester, ENGLAND - FEB 12, 2016
Bottle from tesco inoffensive enough clean tasting some corn with a dry finish decent when cold enough.

allmyvinyl (11019) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - FEB 12, 2016
500ml, bottle from Tesco. Pours clear gold with a thin white head. Aromas of sweet malt, metallic notes, some grassy hops. Taste is light astringent malt, grassy bitter. Unpleasant aftertaste.

Lebo88 (221) - POLAND - DEC 5, 2015
Bottle 500 ml. Poor skunky lager, medium drinkability, some poor hoppy notes maybe? Ehh...

Mr_Pink_152 (5541) - Lincoln, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - MAY 7, 2015
Bottle from tesco. Golden colour with thin white head. Aroma is a bit cereal. Taste a touch sweet.

davidtjm (1075) - Berlin, GERMANY - JAN 11, 2014
Gold pour, with thin head. Some initial corn aroma, then hops. Taste is of hops mainly, and some corn aftertaste. Decent for it’s price

This has a strange fresh, herbal smell and not really in a good way. The taste is very thin and watery with a weak malt flavour.

Graham77 (515) - SCOTLAND - JUN 27, 2013
500ml bottle from Tesco. Well worth the £1 asking price. Not much by way of aroma from this. A wee bit cereal perhaps a faintly metallic edge. But it is full flavoured and bodied. Would buy again.

kwik-lime (2044) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - APR 21, 2013
Really poor aroma. Taste is somewhat bitter with some crisp hop but a soapy finish makes this way below average for a Bohemian pils.

SarkyNorthener (4847) - West Bromwich (Yorkshire Expat), West Midlands, ENGLAND - FEB 26, 2013
Bottle. Pale golden beer with medium frothy head. Slight metalic aroma. Taste is a little metalic and sweet with some grains. Low carbonation. Average for a Bohemian pilsner.
