Bottle: Poured a clear golden color Kolsch with a large white foamy head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma of nice cereal notes with light residual sugar notes with very subtle butter notes. Taste is a mix of cereal notes with light residual sugar notes and even subtler butter notes with light fruity ester. Body is about average with good carbonation. I was expecting a good take on the style but was absolutely surprise at the quality of this offering.

Ar: Bready with red apple; clean dough; pineapple and lemony hops. Ap: Light amber and hazy; medium off-white head with moderate-low retention, settling into a band ring of fine bubbles and a side splotch of foam. T: Toast and apples; some pear and fruit skins; cranberry; bitterness is medium and a little rough, with a hop flavor of blackcurrant and pine; clean acidity and bitterness on a very long finish. P: Medium-light body with very high carbonation; finish is dry. O: A nice kolsch; palate is a bit heavier than most, but the hop and malt flavors stay bright and fresh; comes across as on the high end of bitterness for the style, but that bitterness provides a sharp, steely impression.

UPDATED: OCT 1, 2017 500ml bottle. Clear golden with a thick frothy white head. Flavors are bread crust, honeyed cereals, pear and orange with herbal and spicy notes. Light body, moderate carbonation, slick texture.

pours hazy light golden with a very creamy white head offering good retnetion and lacing. lean cereals, some peppery pear fruitiness, nicely lemony and herbal, very mineral and lightly earthy bittering, clean german yeast action. kind of foamy carabonation, light body - almost watery; dry mineral-citrusy finish. could be more cereal-forward - nice fruity ale component. very nice kölsch - and pretty genuine too.

Bottle. A: honeyed malt, herbacy, crunchy cereal. App: clear light copper with smallish white head. T/p: med body with short bitter finish. Moderate carbonation. O: Vrooden does it again. Complex and delicate with great drinkabilty. They should offer seminars on how to brew creation like this, I would sure attend if only available.

Apparence : Dor?e fonc?e, limpide, carbonatation moyenne, beau col blanc, bonnes r?tention et dentelle.
Nez : Malt toast?, notes fruit?es d?orange, l?g?res ?pices.

Bouteille 500ml. Couleur jaune dorée translucide, mousse blanche immaculée laissant une superbe dentelle. Arôme de malt, houblon herbacé, légèrement fruité, poire. Goût de malt pâle, céréales, houblon herbacé, légère amertume, poire. Carbonatation moyenne-élevée, corps moyen.

My Bottom Line:
Cracking straw-like malts coalesce with herbal hop lengths in this perfectly smooth, authentic Kölsch.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A slice of foam laces around the translucent golden.
-Malts are delicate, as they should be, but super well developed as well.
-Drinkability is through the roof, as seems to be the case for all Vrooden beers.
-That herbal hop finish builds slowly with every sip.
-The end result is soooo clean and refined. Yet another Vrooden masterpiece of a quencher!

Bottles.
