Creamy bubbly brown head over a dark brown body. Fairly high carbonation, lifting the roasted and bready malts over a clean yeast. Less hop than expected. THX! for the bottle. Polished of about half of a 500 ml. bottle @ Delirium Cave. BBF 20/02/2014. Pours a reddish dark brown with a mocha head. Smells pretty sweet with plenty of syrup, chocolate & heavy on sweet herbs. Taste is same, sweet, brown sugar, syrup, distinct iron, chocolate, bitter grounds, faint charcoal, slightly milky. Thick, very dense & fine cream-coloured head; reddish deep mahogany colour. Again diacetyl (and lots of it), but with the melanoidineish/chestnut aroma, it’s sufferable; creamy. Totally different taste, at odds with the nose: light, slightly toasted malts with a marked sourish (in the best way) presence. Bit malty, brown German (Czech?) style bread. Feels better bodied than it probably is. Long sweetish - indeed - chestnut aftertaste. Good tmavy, the diacetyl only perceptible in the nose. Worth trying.
