Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. The appearance is a golden amber with a small white head. The aroma is heavy on malt with some caramel. The taste is just like the nose. A really good beer.

I’ve only had 2 or 3 of this breweries beers, but they have all been solid. This one has a nice golden appearance. You think a buttery aroma would be strange on a beer, but it’s really mellow and is very nice. The flavor is hoppy and smooth. I can just picture having one of these swinging on the porch of a country house on a breezy summer day in the shade. puboflyons (3447) - Allenstown, New Hampshire, USA - JUL 1, 2012
On tap. The color is bronze amber with a decent silky head and good clarity. Toasted pale malts lead off the aroma along with sweet caramel and low hop bitterness. The body is medium. The taste is sweet to begin with a light bitterness at the end that was not as expected given the aroma. But I found it to be a great pale ale. Beatiful deep orange color with a sturdy white head, which is quick to disappear. Complex aroma: raspberry dominates with hints of lemon and other citrus phenols (some apple perhaps?). This beer is light bodied an refreshing with raspberry undertones throughout the slightly acidic flavour. Well done! ToadMan (559) - Washington, Washington DC, USA - FEB 23, 2002
A nice light, smooth beer. I would love to have this beer with pasta or just to compliment a sunny day.

I had this one a few minutes ago. I’ve only tried the Black Shack Porter before. This one of the better ales I have come across in this country. malrubius (2930) - Springfield, Vermont, USA - JUL 9, 2010
12 ounce bottle from Grain and Vine in decent quality plastic cup. Light copper with head and lace. Orangey peppery aroma. Medium sweet apricot peach with nice spicy yeasty peppery hop finish. Medium effervescent body. Really a decent beer, especially for the price. dumbo99 (5) - austin, Texas, USA - SEP 10, 2001 does not count
agreeded with kaya161 great refreshing beer from a great microbrewery...... austinpowers (2831) - San Francisco, California, USA - NOV 8, 2003
An enjoyable, rich aroma. The body isn't bitter in the least, and yet is fairly malty. Bronze colored, this brew is fairly sweet and pleasant. A blond ale indeed, and an extremely enjoyable one boasting some grassy, herbal notes. walrus (13) - USA - FEB 26, 2004
Rich, Smooth, dense foam, moderate head, slightly pale. nice. Good choice for breaking in Bud drinkers to what they might have had.
