Bottle. Dark clear copper with lasting head and lace. Mild caramel and fruit and slightly metallic aroma, Sweet caramel fruity with medium spicy bitterness. Not really picking up much smoke. Will let it warm up a little... More roasty sweetness. Would be excellent with significant smoke. Medium body. Fairly aggressive carbo. Good.

Dark reddish copper color. Nice fruity smell with some spices mixed in. I read another review that said cinnamon, that and maybe something else slightly adds to the smell and taste. I enjoyed this is much as any other Winter brew.Slilght carbination makes this easy to drink and does not taste artifitial in my opinion as others have said. Thumbs up to this local brew. Flavor/Palate :Full bodied. Rich yet fluffy lightness on palate. Soft maltiness with not to sweet caramel sides. Slight sweeter bark woody hints. Quiet drinkable . Sticky finish with slight warmth followed. Decent winter sample.
Deep amber beer with a light caramelly aroma. Soft munich malt, light toast and a soft vineous character. Sweet and toffeeish with a rich caramelly character. Softly sweet and earthy with a bit of light toastiness. A little bit of light fruity sweetness. A bit of cherry fruitiness. It’s quite nice really. Bottle. Pours a dark amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of sweet malts, caramel, roast, and some nuttyness. Flavor was slightly sweet with toasted malts, caramel sweetness a touch of chocolate and a hint of smoke with a medium body and a hoppy dry finish. luttonm (6980) - Seattle, Washington, USA - APR 7, 2010
Draft in MA. Rich winter brew with great malting. Body is a bit too thin and the ’scotch’ isn’t too prominent. Ends too sweet and fruity. Jayb0 (1223) - Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA - FEB 1, 2012
I like that this winter beer doesn’t try too hard, it’s just a hearty take on scotch ale that doesn’t go crazy, just gives you that malty, maybe very slightly smoky, satisfying beer for a winter evening, and gives you something at a reasonable ABV.
