gegwilson (3756) - North Yorkshire, ENGLAND - MAR 22, 2014
Bottle from B&M. Poured amber with a frothy cream head. I was pleasantly surprised by this one. Some nice toasty malt flavour. Not much in the way of hops, but there’s a pleasant toffeeish finish with a hint of coffee too.

RichTheVillan (8042) - Birmingham, West Midlands, ENGLAND - MAR 9, 2014
Bottle at home; dark amber pour with a frothy white head, malt aroma, nutty taste a bit sweet bock like.

Mulldog (13) - Rochdale, Lancashire, ENGLAND - FEB 5, 2014
500ml bottle. Nice creamy head when poured which follows the glass down. Mark of a good beer in my book. Hint of caramel. Very palatable and you can not tell it’s 4.5%.

BlackHaddock (7516) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 26, 2013
500ml bottle (BBD Jul 2013) drank on St George’s Day 2013. Poured into a UK pint sleeve at home. Good amber body with a head that was both creamy in texture and colour. The nose was caramel sweet and so was the taste, it did however have a drier semi-hop finish to it. Body-depth was average; would have liked a bit more umph to be honest. I liked it: my sweet tooth is a sucker for caramel induced malty brews!

johndoughty (5504) - cheslyn hay, West Midlands, ENGLAND - APR 14, 2013
Orange with a small head.Fruity and slightly bitter. Quite pleasant but nothing inspiring. Think this is one of the breweries who in the past have produced some pleasant beers but are now reeling a bit from the onslaught of the new wave of craft breweries.

ralphdot (1098) - Billingham, Durham, ENGLAND - OCT 10, 2012
5.6% black with a thin head, fruity roast malt aroma, bitter burnt roasted malt and coffee taste.

DruncanVeasey (8260) - Nr NUNEATON, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - SEP 24, 2012
Bottle from B+M. Bronze finely lidded with white. Aroma of buttered rust, good shrub, touch of dung, peanut butter and sesame. Actually some really pleasant unfiltered German aspects. Marzipan and dough on the palate edged with phosphorus.

imdownthepub (15008) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - AUG 16, 2012
Bottled, 500ml from The Plough, Bodicote, Oxon. Orange gold with short lived head. Heavy caramel note, butterscotch, some sharp tinny notes, thinnish malty brew. Not over keen.

kermis (14257) - The Hague / Amsterdam, NETHERLANDS - JUN 17, 2012
Bottle shared at the Master Builder, West End. Pours clear amber with a white head. Aroma of malt with some bread and caramel. Flavour has some fruit and butter and is medium sweet and bitter. Light to medium bodied with soft carbonation. (offline rating from April 2012)

rauchbierlover (662) - Berlin, Berlin, GERMANY - MAY 16, 2012
Clear amber body with a frothy white head. Bitter taste, with hits of corn and blackcurrant. Dry bitter and metallic finish. Nice one!
