TAR (2787) - Blue Ridge Mountains, North Carolina, USA - SEP 16, 2014
Bottle purchased at the brewery, best by Feb. 2015, consumed in Aug. 2014: Pristine burnished golden. Fine and creamy but fragmented white head. Bright and clean aromas of toasty malt, lemon, fennel seed, piecrust, honeyed biscuits, hay, pecan and subtle orangey fruitiness. Soft, compact carbonation. Vividly toasty and cookielike, with a flavorsome punch of Spalt-derived wood, herbs, and hard lemon candy. Increasingly oily hop flavors gel with a mineral-induced scratchiness which dovetails beautifully with the toasty pils malt. Splash of bright fruity esters elegantly deepens the core. Malt is quite succulent and sturdily structured, boasting some melanoidin muscle which harmonizes with the strikingly rich, mouth-enveloping hay dust textures. Dazzling Munich and pils interplay. Closes fully malty and richly textured, yet equally clean and dry, as light breadcrust sharpness lingers alongside woody and lemony Spalt-laced herbality. Like a lot of Franconia beer, this isn’t overly dynamic, but it’s free of flaws, has terrific balance, and the malt is quite refined. Just lovely.

Bottled. Hazy deep golden, small head. Bready nose with some grass. Mid dry with medium body and soft mouthfeel. Mild grass, soft bread. Mid bitter finish. Mellow and drinkable.

ganache (6056) - New Jersey, USA - OCT 25, 2011
Bottle by 27.02.12. Nose is lightly yeasty with sprizty citrus malt, a cellary celery note, and beautiful toasted grains. Beautiful deep golden body with strong carbonation and a sudsy beige head. Taste is sweet with low-to-no bitterness. Medium-full body is very malty, some sunny citrus and faint toasted grain, just a little bread and just a little grass. Soft and super refreshing. Check these guys out, this brewery does not make a bad beer!

Kristall-König (2820) - Oldenburg, GERMANY - DEC 26, 2011
Geruch malzig-süß, getreidig. Startet süßlich und getreidig. Mitte setzt malzig ein und bietet überraschend aromatische Züge. Abgangs verhalten bittermalzig. Recht gutes Landbier.

raymondwave (931) - FINLAND - SEP 24, 2007
(OPPS’07). One of the better landbiers I’ve had. Looks nicely reddish amber, darker than other landbiers I’ve seen. Some earthiness (not kidding :)) and very nice hoppy bitterness. Slightly roasted. A bit similar to some british bitters maybe? Actually has some carbonation.

3.2
Quack-Duck (9533) - Down South, GERMANY - MAY 6, 2009
bottle from Bierzwerg. Deep golden colour with an amber shine, mid-sized head. Malty nose. Medium-bodied intenively malty beer with hints of caramel and roasetd malts, as well as very shy hints of nuts. A very nice beer.
