COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
From the 1700s through the early 1900s steamboats were used to transport people and produce the length of Seneca Lake. If there were passengers at a dock a white flag was flown during the day and a red flag in the evening. Amber Lager is a malty, full-bodied Vienna style lager. Its strong malt flavor and aroma arise from generous amounts of Vienna and Caramel malts, complimented by a delicate aroma of Tettnang and Hallertau hops. Wagner Brewing Company is pleased to announce that we received an award for excellence for Wagner Valley Dockside Amber Lager.

Thin, unpronounced aroma, with little but a touch of malt. Flavor had a nice rich chocolatiness as it warmed, but was otherwise pretty minimal. Easy drinker, nothing special.

12oz bottle. Pours a radiant, cola-brown color with the slightest reddish tinge; light tan head with patchy lacing. Toasty malts and caramel in the aroma; a hint of citrus. This tastes wonderful: medium-to-full mouthfeel, showing plenty of cola and a creamy nuttiness; lively carbonation, with a touch of citrus and a near-perfect mouthfeel; terribly drinkable, flavorful Vienna (probably my favorite of the few Ive had). Medium, toasted malt and nutty finish. I could drink this all day.

Cola - colored with a thick tan head. The thick head also had very nice retention. Malty aroma, caramel and raisins in the palate. This is a smooth creamy palate. A very nice vienna.

This is the ONE beer that this brewery does right, and boy have they gotten it right! Its remarkably subtle in its combination of Hallertau/Tettnang with the delicious Vienna malts. No wonder they won an award. Fairly sweet with buttery malts, its as smooth as a babys bottom. Their other beers sure do suck though. This one-hit-wonder brewery has the one-hit thing in common with A Flock Of Seagulls, who I will be seeing in concert in two weeks.

GABF 2002: Dark amber color. Intense floral hop aroma, sweet up front and a bitter finish, with no hop flavors.

Great malt and hop floral nose. Good head and lace, an all round good beer.

Draft at the guilty goose. Deep amber color. Reddish. Malty sticky flavor. No head. Eh

Explodes out of bottle with a 5+ finger light brown head but fades quickly leaving only traces of lace. Murky brown/amber with a ton of chunky bits, ugliest beer Ive seen in a while. Light-medium carbonation and medium bodied. Nose is raisin and yeast. Starts with sweet raisin & plum, there is a hint of yeast in the background, finishes smooth and is actually very drinkable. $1.00 for a 12 oz bottle from Hoosick Street Discount Bev. Troy, NY.

Poured a hazy copper with wonderfully fluffy head; tiny constantly moving bubbles give this a very creamy palate. Malts are burnt/sweet caramel, especially in the middle. Nice mildly warm hops.

Decidedly brown in colour with a medium amount of carbonation. Its got a nutty / malty aroma with little hop influance. The caramel malt is the dominant flavor, along with some vienna and munich malts and some clean bitterness. Its fairly average stuff. Thanks Lubiere.
