The huge head was a big disappointment, it clouded its aroma wgich seemed malty and sweet. Had a nice cloudy amber color too it. The taste was a spicy mix of malt and hops. Prostman (1077) - Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 14, 2004
The sample of this that I had was a bit old, but still stood out as being pretty good. A nice change and something work trying. hophead75 (2012) - Largo, Florida, USA - SEP 10, 2007
sampled at the brewery, and found this to be a pretty good vienna. Caramel (deep amber in color). Aroma is clean and malty, with caramel, toasty malts, and german floral hops. Taste is also clean and smooth with alot of caramel/lightly toasted malts- nice balance with bittering and flavoring hops. Finishes smooth and malty. I think this was my favorite of the beers I sampled. DrDavid (957) - Johnson, Vermont, USA - OCT 25, 2008
(Bottle). Spicy malt aroma. Dark reddish-amber body, large off-white head. Flavor is woody, slightly sweet, plenty of character. shadey (2135) - Nashville, Tennessee, USA - MAY 30, 2010
On draft at the brewery. Award winning for a reason. A very flavorful amber with toastiness and sweet malts. Not bad at all.

I detect apples, dark fruits and raisin in this very smooth well balanced beer. I had it at the brewery on tap. The aroma seems a bit weak and the flavor isn’t very pronounced-it just exists to appeal. The malty quotient here was appealing I have to say. sample at brewery - large tan head over toffee colored liquid. Sweeter malts and some hops and wood on the finsh. Nice. Sregnar35 (1030) - Rotterdam, New York, USA - JUL 4, 2007
On tap at Mahars. Poured brown with a small head. Aroma was weak, but pleasantly sweet. Flavor very full sweetness, very tasty brew. HogTownHarry (6823) - Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, CANADA - JUL 31, 2007
Bottle (12oz). Deep clear ruby-amber with a smallish fizzy off-white head (3+). For once a WG that doesn’t foam up insanely, Moderately sweet lightly toasted cereal malt aroma, sweet citrus juice and mild floral hops. The taste follows - toasty, a hint of chocolate to go with cereal/rye grain and juicy malt, enough floral bitterness to balance. Average but appropriate body, nicely carbonated, very crisp and lightly bitter finish - very good beer, one of their better ones. McGarnigle (651) - Rochester, New York, USA - AUG 17, 2012
UPDATED: SEP 1, 2012 Bottle. I drank this with a meal (grilled pork chops) and thought it was spot on A nice hefty Vienna-style lager. Some malty sweetness, not much hop flavor. Possibly my favorite from this brewery/winery.
