bluekuma (97) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - JUL 17, 2007
Bottle-conditioned. Russet brown with thin white head. Very faint aroma of grassy hop and some sweet malt. A little lacking in condition but some lovely English bitter flavours; biscuity malt, peardrops, dried coconut, tea and grassy, earthy hops. Understated. But rather lovely.

BCA Best Bittern (nice label) from the Dodgi’ Deli’, Cowley Road, Oxford, 28-04-08 Amber in colour with off white head. Good citrusy bite that lingers for a long while on the roof of the mouth, lacks subtlety and interest and yet I’m growing to quite like it and when I count up the scores I note that I’ve rated this higher than I expected. It’s not bad at all but not the best from Wagtail.

downender (8928) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - MAY 24, 2008
BCA as ’Best Bittern’ from Corks, Bristol. Poured a clear amber colour, with a frothy and short-lived off-white head. Aroma of nutty malt with some dusty hops. Flavour had a plenty of biscuity malt, reminiscent of plain chocolate digestives with an earthy bitter hop finish. A solid bottle conditioned bitter.

Cask, gravity at St Neots BF ’09 (’Booze on the Ouse’). Copper colour with a small white head. Whiff of sulphur soon passed to be replaced by a slightly toasted maltiness. Sweet malt taste is well balanced by a strong mid bitter finish. Pretty good.

Leighton (22555) - London, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 2, 2011
Bottle at ChrisO’s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2011. Pours clearish brown with a small head. Light toast and fruit on the nose. Flavor is lightly sweet with some bland malt notes. Light bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish, some toast. OK, just not much happening here.

Bottle 500ml. @ chriso s Pre-GBBF Shindig 2011.

[ Vintage BBF 0209 ]. Unclear medium amber colour with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, oxidide, fruity. Flavour is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration, fruity, malty. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20110730]

500ml bottle (ChrisO Pre-GBBF2011 "Donkey Dork Lord" Shindig)

Very meh bitter. Straight down the middle, no frills. No errors, but no bold features either.

planky84 (3453) - Lee, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 2, 2011
Bottle at Chris O’s pre GBBF shindig. Cloudy orange pour with a white head. Fruity nose, particularly tangerine. Fruity-malt like flavour.
