A German style golden beer with a firm, dry malt palate. The use of NZ grown Saaz hops for both flavour and aroma gives this beer a deep floral, citrus character. An excellent brew to serve with spicy food, or as a perfect session beer.

Tasted at the brewer which was unfortunately suffering from a warm ferment. Happy to say that the take away bottle I got was tasting excellent! Pours a crystal clear golden colour with a thin head. Nice floral slightly fruity hop aroma.. Very clean taste with a bready malt flavour, crisp and quite well balanced. Goes down very easily.

Thin light sessionable pale ale, no head at all. Appearance of bright clear apple juice some large sediment chunks although dont think this bottle conditioned. Subtle noble hop and bread aroma. Easy enough to drink but dont think Ill be lining up for another

Bottle on Waiheke Island. This is actually a Kolsch-style beer with subtle pear and grapefruit aromas on top of a grainy malt base. Light hop bitterness with a medium-light body. A pleasant uncomplicated beer for a session.

Bottle, pours a light amber with a thin bubbly head. A floral hop aroma with some grassy and citrus touches. On the palate, the caramal malt is quickly followed by the stronger citrus hop character. An off point would be some tartness in the finish. Doesnt quite bring back good memories of the Baroona from a few years ago, but reasonably drinkable.

Draft. Pours gold with a white head. Pale malty base, faint fruity and spicy hops, and mild bitterness. I was told this was single hopped with Cascade... who knows, maybe I had something different?

Clear pale blonde with slight bitter flavour, clean brewing profile, low flavour, motueka herbal nose, light carbonation biscuit malt with a touch of custard in finish. Inoffensive.

Tasted 7/2/2014. Draught at Waiheke Island Brewery, NZ. Poured a clear pale amber colour with a one- to two-finger white foamy head that retained OK and laced OK. Carbonation very low with small bubbles. Aroma of sweet moderately strong hops (not as aromatic as other pale ales Ive tasted) with citrus/grapefruit and possibly passionfruit. Taste of quite sweet caramel malt fading to a moderately strong but nice bitterness. Light body. Smooth, clean, crisp with a long slightly bitter finish. Quite OK.

Very pale, straw colour with small head. Aroma is spicy, with some fruitiness and a character I couldnt quite pick. Light refreshing on the palate, clean and quite good. A mate brought this back for a trip to NZ and I found this a good end of the day drink.
