Pale gold lager with a thin white head. Aroma was yeasty. Hoppy taste with a little bitterness.

out of the bottle, pours a pale yellow. minimal head. smells sour and of coconut. tastes like coconut milk and some banana/fruity. has a grainy texture to it, yet has a simultaneously watery mouthfeel. its weird.

Premium lager? Tasted like a pale ale to me. Lots of American hop flavor, with a nice medium body to back it up. I wonder if they changed the recipe? My bottle did not have a thin body or no flavor. It had a fluffy white head that stayed half way, and made a lace on the side of the glass. Decent stuff, but I am wary about how my rating differs from most.

12 oz bottle. Pours a little deeper than pale yellow, with a small ring of head. Not much aroma to be had. The flavor was a little soapy with some pine and citrus in the finish. Hey, it’s not a pale lager it’s a PREMIUM lager.

DrunkAsASkunk (847) - Lynnwood, Washington, USA - JUN 10, 2005
This beer pours a very light golden color with a thin white soapy head which dissipated rapidly and no visible lacing other than a loose island or two. Clear liquid however and very visible carbonation tornado effect. The aroma is metallic, medicinal, citrusy, lemony and slighty piney. The flavor is light bodied, heavily carbonated and a mixture of mouth-puckeringly sour fruits...lemons and pineapple and a piney prickly sticky finish. Cloying bitterness, wet cardboard finish. This is barely drinkable at best, and questionable in all respects. Absolutely awful finish...thanks but no thanks.

A pale gold color with no head. almost no aroma. Hop is in the background and a small pineapple flavor is all that keeps me drinking my glass. not much else to critique.

IslandHaole (1286) - Misawa, JAPAN - FEB 12, 2005
Light to medium gold color with a small white head. Mild maltyscent with floral hops. Rather plain lager a bit sweet in the middle with a decent hop follow. A bit acidic after. Would be OK with luau pig (the food, not your fat date) on a tropical balmy night. Better than the macroswill.

hopdog (12953) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 6, 2005
Poured a hazy and medium golden yellow color with a small white head. Aromas of grasses and lemons. Light grapefruit taste. For a lighter beer, this one wasn’t all that bad.

Ernest (7786) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JAN 13, 2005
UPDATED: OCT 26, 2006 Bottle. Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is clear medium yellow. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain), lightly to moderately hoppy (flowers, grapefruit). Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Decent, hopped-up lager.

Bottle. A light golden yellow color with a laced white head. A sweet and floral aroma, rather nice for a pale lager. Smooth, crisp, light, and sweet. Very drinkable.
