Bottle 50cl, a cloudy copper cider, nose is on apple juice and smashed apples. Aroma is on on apples, ripped apples, even grapes, low body, high carbonation, slightly sour, poor quality stuff.

Steamy cooking apple and sticky bark nose. Vaguely opaque golden brown. Impressively wholesome bite initially, usually such a fruity apple echoing kick off is reserved for artificially sweetned noise that fades quickly. Brassy carbonation throughout. Lush skin of pastry sweetness and chewy dryness. Firm and resonating spicy dry finish and a pear drop linger. Excellent work Waitrose.

Appearance: Clear amber with white bubbly head on the pour. Aroma: Apple, buttery, caramel, butterscotch, vanilla, woody note of spice. Taste: Medium sweetness, low/medium acidity and tannin. Palates: Thick smooth texture, medium/heavy body, average carbonation, dry, lingering tart caramel, butterscotch, vanilla apple finish. Comments: Gorgeous.

Bottle, poured into tumbler. Yellow, slight tinge of green. No head or lacing. Woody aromas, slightly sour smelling too. Very dry, especially in the finish. As stated, light sparkle. Good cider.

Bottle from Waitrose, drunk at home. Clear gold with bubbles rising but no head. A slightly sour apple aroma. I like the apple flavour in this. It’s different. Some apple pie flavour. Distinctive and quite attractive. Even a bite of tannin on the gums. Dryish finish. Quite impressed. Easy drinking but with enough character to make it interesting. I’d certainly have it again as a thirst quencher. Quite parching really for a supermarket cider. Definitely drying. Tasty.
