Bottle from the local Waitrose, pours clear golden color with an off-white head that totally dissipates. The smell is wet grain, some toastiness and sweetness. The taste is crisp at first then some toasted malt, a touch of sour mash and a bit of fruitiness then ending dry and slightly bitter. The body is light+ with mild carbonation. Some glimmers oaf a decent beer but also some faults which make it merely drinkable.

Bottle from, guess where? Lager gold, very little head. Lemon, some caramel and a grainy note to the aroma. Tastes sweet with a tangy and slightly astringent bitterness in the finish. Carbonation is spot on but body’s a bit thin. A good honest pils, certainly worth a try.

Bottle at home in London with Lyoli - picked up at Waitrose Queensway. Pours clear yellow-gold with a creamy white head. The nose holds some lightly skunky cabbage, pale bread, hay. Light-medium sweet flavor with mild bitter hay, grains, cereal, lemon. Light bodied with average carbonation. Sweet finish, lightly crispy, some biscuits, hay, sugary cereal, floral hops, mild grassy bitterness. So so.

Bottle from the Waitrose on Gloucster Road. Pours gold with a white head. Aroma is mildly spicy, with a touch of grass? Near med body. Flavor is mildly noble, somewhat bready, and finishes lightly bitter. Urquel it’s not, but it will do when the alternatives are tasteless macros.

Bottle at home with a Chicken Tikka Masala. Served very cold. Clear pale amber, medium white head which dissipates quickly. Nose is nice and grassy, hay, straw, cereal grain husk. Wow, really surprised by this. Taste is grassy, straw, hay, cereal grain, crisp dry lager yeast, subtle lemon on finish. Best supermarket lager I’ve ever had.

Clear gold. Disappearing, white head. Fairly spicy. Toasty malts. Grassy, lemon hop. Drinks sharp, clean, and lemon crisp. Not a whole lot to say. Perfectly drinkable. Nice hoppy burp from it! Ok. Enjoyed it.

500ml bottle from Waitrose Richmond, into Pilsner Urquell Stein. Golden yellow, clear, sparkling, small white head doesn’t endure. Aroma is very clean, cereals, light chlorinated water. Body is medium, tingly carbonation, smooth. Taste is light and crisp, tthin bready malt, some dry metallics, tangy finish. Underflavoured but nothing offensive at all.
