3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: NOV 2, 2012
Bottle from Astor Wines. Translates into "Make Women Cry" according to the flier that was handed out during the tasting. Supposedly the most recognizable sake in America. There almost has to be a duplicate listing somewhere else.
Deep wine glass. Clear, faintly tinted color.
Subtle, yeasty bubblegum & aerosol scent.
Yeasty, milky texture. Glutenous feel.
Flavor is more grass then melon. Grassier then other sakes I’ve tried. A touch of oxidation. More about earth & less about the fruit. Delicate/mellow, but not quite easy.
Apologies for the inexperience, but I’m not at the level to appreciate the subtle stuff that makes this a $60 sake, outside of the fluffed up descriptions.
