On tap @ Kalfaret Brygghus, Bergen. Pours a dark reddish brown, with a creamy head. Aroma has sweet caramel malts and syrup, with some spicy notes. Sweet syrupy flavour, with some distinct Christmas spices (cardamom?), and some lightly burned coffee sticking through the finish. ClubGonzo (5670) - Bergen, NORWAY - DEC 7, 2011
On tap @ Pingvinen, Bergen. Deep brown body with a cherry red hue and a dense, creamy light beige long-lasting head. Nice. Nose is raisins, sweet malty tones and hints of roasted nuts. Taste is sweet dark malts, raisins, nuts and hints of almonds, spices and vague herbal hops. This is like a Norwegian Christmas beer equivalent of a Belgian abbey dubbel, only with a denser, smoother and more filling mouthfeel, softer carbonation and a great balance. Certainly one of the best Norwegian "juleøl" in the classic 6,5 % ABV range available out there. Palme (4811) - Bergen, NORWAY - DEC 6, 2011
On tap @ Jakobs, Bergen. A deep deep brown body with a nice big, lasting and heavy lacing both fluffy and dense beige head. Burned caramel, earthy tones and some hints of berries and chocolate in the aroma. Quite interesting actually! Has a lively small-bubbled carbonation level and a light sticky-oily mouthfeel. The burned caramel is dominating the flavors, but it also has a suitable hoppy-bitterness and some faint metallic hints towards the finish. Spicy and alcoholic aftertaste. Not to light drinkable, but all in all a quite alright one.

From tap @Amundsen, Oslo. Dense foamy tan head. Body is unclear dark mahogny. Subtle aroma of cocoa and burnt grain. Taste is bitter-sweet. Brown sugar sweetness with notes of dark chocolate. Firm hop bitterness. Quite sharp with hint of bitter coffee ground. Oily texture. Well-bodied. Bitter-sweet, roasty/coffee endnotes. RuneStumo (2687) - Haugesund, NORWAY - NOV 29, 2011
23.11.2011. On tap at Amundsen, Oslo. Dark brown colour with off-white head. Aroma is malty with notes of alcohol. This beer seems a little stronger than it is. Faint notes of vanilla and bourbon. Medium to thin body and there is not enogh flavours to make this a really good beer. Unbalanced. KnutAlbert (6754) - Oslo, NORWAY - NOV 24, 2011
Very dark, small beige head. Very rich malty body, bittersweet. Compact rather than complex. ra, a little yeast. Not unpleasant, but no superlatives for this, either. berlinoise2go (689) - NORWAY - NOV 19, 2011
