Christmas Special 2012. "Das obergärige IPA ist ein sehr stark gehopftes Bier. ACHTUNG: Der Gaumen ist an diese bitterfruchtige Geschmacksexplosion nicht gewöhnt! Mutige werden mit einer verführerischen Note von exotischen Früchten belohnt." Naturhopfen (Tettnanger, Spalter, Hallertauer, Polaris)

Big thanks to quack-duck for that beer. Looks really good. Beer in the glass zippy, huge head. Starts strong, intense hoppy, modest dry. Wonderful fruity-hoppy, modest sourish, notes of lemon. A bit soapy, but not too much. Finish well balanced with fruity notes of grapefruit. Great IPA!

Bottle from Bartlebier, thanks! Orange color, hazy. tangerine in the slightly floral aroma. Medium bodied. Tangerine in the floral hoppy flavor. Sweet marmelade. This IPA is more fruity as hopbitter.

Bottle, courtesy of Quack-Duck. Very soft, balanced, mellow IPA. Full bodied with prominent apricot flavour combined with rather grassy German hop notes. Sweet with a medium bitterness. Very nice beer. Not a hop bomb but I like it even more because of that.

Dark hazy orange colour. Aroma is quite sweet with some tropical fruit. Carbonation is low. Texture is quite thick and syrupy. Rather sweet. The dryness and bitterness are quite subdued.

22/IV/13 - 33cl bottle @ Rampkrot (Deurne) - BB: VI/2013 (2013-369) Thanks to Bartlebier for sharing the bottle!

Clear bright orange beer, small off-white to yellowish head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: grains, bit malty, sweet, citrus, orange peel. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: lots of citrus fruits, a bit aged already, orange peel, pretty watery. Aftertaste: citrus, yeast, bitterness, bit of chloride, bitter hops, not as nice as I had dared to hope for. Some extra points for having the guts to brew this in Germany.

Bottle courtesy of Bartlebier, thank you sir! Cloudy golden color, small white head. Aroma of spices, grass, scallions. Taste is slightly bitter hay, straw, spice. Great to see the Germans branching out!

Thanks to pivnizub for the bottle! Pours a deep yellow orange color with just a hint of haze and a light tan head. Smell is a malty, fruity blend. Taste is herbal and citrus hops up front then some fruity malt and caramel coming in the middle ending dry with some lingering fruit and a touch of licorice at the very end. light/medium body with an average carbonation level. This is an interesting take on an IPA.

Embrouille (2848) - SWITZERLAND - MAR 13, 2013
Bottled 33cl. Courtesy of bartlebier. It pours a murky amber beer with an average sized, nicely lasting creamy off-white head. Yeasty nose which is reminiscent of baguette, cloves, tropical fruit (including papaya) and melissa. Sweet. Creamy palate. Medium to full bodied. Decent bitterness. Lovely hop profile. Subtle malt back. Faintly soapy. Some residual sugars in the finish which is yeast accented with lingering notes of cloves. Interesting. An atypical IPA. Thanks a lot bartlebier!

Spritzig geleert Antrunk, vergleichsweise wenig Hopfen. Hell süffig, süffig, erfrischend. Geschmacklich nett aber kein wirkliches IPA 9/9/12/11/11/11

MoritzF (9803) - Ottobrunn, GERMANY - FEB 17, 2013
(bottle, 33cl, courtesy of Quack-Duck) Hazy, golden colour with a short and slightly off-white foamy head. Mildly yeasty and cara-malty aroma with notes of citrus-fruity and herbal hops. Mildly bitter flavour, medium bodied with a smooth carbonation. Slightly grainy (cara-)malty base with fruity and herbal hoppy accents; quite dry and slightly doughy malty finish with a good load of herbal and fruity hops. Nicely done interpretation of an IPA in the German way. 11.II.13
