Really lucky to get a bottle of this from Paul. Drank it in Amsterdam in 2017. Really dark appearance, bold and aggressive throughout. Less sweetness than I’d expected considering the brewery. Still, a nice amount of caramel, roasted nuts, citrus hops and a touch of spice at the end. Quite nice.

33cl fles. Helder zwart kleur, fijne romige bruine schuimkraag. Aroma van citrus en karamel. Smaak is zoet, citrus, tropisch fruit en chocolade. Vol Lichaam, Veel koolzuur. Citrus overheerst en mist wat gebrande mout.

Clear dark ruby (almost black), brown lacing foam head. Nice hoppy aroma with coffee tones. Strong bitter taste, coffee and roast there. OK. (Velp 201704)

Flavour is medium sweet, roasted malts, tobacco, quite dry, some liquorice, light fruity, bitter finish. Medium bodied at best. Expected more after the high ratings so far.

caesar (7463) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - JAN 24, 2017
Bottle from het Biermoment, BB 10 2017 bottled a year before, 33 cl sample. Slight hazy copper to dark brown color, short frothy head. Aroma with lots of toffee and butterscotch, some earthy and piney hop and a bit spicy note. Almost more of an american strong ale. Medium butterscotch and toffee sweetness and getting more bitter towards the finish. Quite full bodied, lots of flavor, giving it a real american style feel. Very interesting and very tasty.
