caesar (6972) - Bunnik/Utrecht, NETHERLANDS - JAN 24, 2017
Bottle from het Biermoment, BB 10 2017 bottled a year before, 33 cl sample. Slight hazy copper to dark brown color, short frothy head. Aroma with lots of toffee and butterscotch, some earthy and piney hop and a bit spicy note. Almost more of an american strong ale. Medium butterscotch and toffee sweetness and getting more bitter towards the finish. Quite full bodied, lots of flavor, giving it a real american style feel. Very interesting and very tasty.

Aroma:
Medium/heavy aroma of malts, caramel, tropical fruit, pine, chocolate, tea, roasted malts and hops.

Appearance:
Opaque dark brown/black beer with a medium beige/brown head.

Taste/Palate:
Starts medium/heavy sweet with malts, caramel, tropical fruit, pine and chocolate; ends slightly bitter and medium dry with tea, roasted malts and hops.

Overall:
This beer is intense, complex and balanced. Perfect balance between heavily roasted malts and hops. Loads of fruit, chocolate and roast flavours. Even some tea right there in the middle. Great beer overall that is, if anything, slightly too dry.
