Bottle from Drinks & Gifts, BB 10 2019. Dark color, medium frothy brown head. Aroma of roasted malts, piney hop, bit blackcurrant, bit cookie. Almost like a black IPA. Quite bitter in taste, earthy and piney, some roasty bitterness. Very easy drinker and feels more like an imperial black IPA, so a bit thin in body for a RIS. Lovely beer, but totally unexpected. mylos86 (20) - - JAN 24, 2018

Tap at Arendsnest, 20th December 17. Pours black with a lovely bubbly white head. Aroma is roasty, liquorice, coffee. Taste is roast malt, liquorice, quite dry, little sweetness, cocoa, dark chocolate. Really smooth finish. Great impy DijkBier (688) - AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS - NOV 29, 2017
Deep black pour with intense brown head, lasting quite well. Aroma of roasted malts, smokey, tarry, licorice, and also senses of coffee and dark chocolate; while opening it's richer & more complex, later the smokey/tar-like elements vanish (but they return in the late aftertaste). Taste is mild bitter & sweet, with a more bitter finish. Very nice RIS, full of character and taste.

From shared bottle at Maakun’s. Black with tan head. Sweet deep roasted chocolate malts, charcoal, laurel and licorice, berries and some coffee. Big sweet and bitter. Full body and soft carbonation. Very nice deep roast. Maakun (6952) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - NOV 25, 2017
Bottle shared thanks to sjogro. Black with very big light brown head. Very lively! Quite some licorice and roast, light molasses, ash, sweet caramel, coffee, black berries, soft juniper and herbs in the finish. Over medium sweet and medium bitter with soft sour ash. Full bodied with quite some carbonation. Maybe a bit too carbonated but otherwise a very solid RIS. Borresteijn (7661) - Zaandam, NETHERLANDS - NOV 16, 2017
