Keg at Fat Heads PDX. 09/11/14.
Lightly hazed chestnut brown with a moderate beige top.
Nose is toffee, light spice, biscuit, dark fruit peel.
Taste comprises biscuit, nutty, brown sugars, dark fruit, dates.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a modicum of booze peeping through.
Drinkable but pretty basic. Dodgrblu (746) - Sacramento, California, USA - AUG 2, 2014
On tap at Oberon in Ashland after quite a quest, middle of the road in all categories. beersearcher (2382) - Glendale, California, USA - JAN 13, 2014
The beer pours a light brown with orange tinting to it. The aroma is slightly woody with notes of caramel to it. Taste wise, I am getting quite a bit of cola taste. A little bit of English cider notes pop in and out as well and that also adds some sweetness to the proceedings. Also a bit of raisin in the distance. The beer really sticks to the roof of the mouth. I also capture some nutmeg like spicing at the back. Lots of notes here. Squizzle (304) - Ashland, Oregon, USA - OCT 30, 2013
This is a great strong ale. It’s flavor is complex but nor over the top. The price is right and the beer makes you happy. Top notch Southern Oregon brew.

On tap at the Green Dragon. Pours a cloudy toffee color with a medium beige head. A sweet nose of caramel and fruit. The flavor is well done: toffee, chestnuts, very dusty, light fruity hops. Smooth, yeasty. Good. AdamChandler (4977) - Enfield, New Hampshire, USA - OCT 16, 2013
Ruby brown. Cherry and honey on the nose. Sweet with tree bark and raisins. Sweet but lacking something in the middle. Maybe it’s too dry. Has lots of oak. ACHops (1566) - Seattle, Washington, USA - SEP 3, 2013
On tap @ Marination Ma Kai. Pours medium dark caramel brown with thin off white head. Aroma is nutty roasty malt with only a bit of hops. Taste is mild roasty caramel malt with a lightly spicy hop finish. For all the hops that went into this, they came out pretty light. Very much in line with an English Strong Ale though, if that’s what you’re looking for. BK7 (773) - Turner, Oregon, USA - AUG 23, 2013
bomber. Light malty sweetness with nutty and roasted flavors. Caramel in the background. Smooth crisp finish. Reid (2527) - Salem, Oregon, USA - AUG 4, 2013
22oz from Fred Meyer in S.Salem ( Commercial St. store).
Surprised to see this at Freddys hope this gives this small brewery a boost.
Certainty looks like an English style ale in my Imperial nonic glass..chesnut brown with a small creme coloured head. Attractive.
Smells of english hop, tobacco, toffee, light cocoa..very nice and very authentic.
Taste is the same as aroma with a bit of demerara sugar and hazelnut, lovely quite lovely.
Great palate to this one,low carbonation and smooth finish.
A very good English ESB really better than any i have tasted from American brewers
