A very fruity and yet nicely malty strong ale. Not quite well balanced, but yet very drinkable and quite tasty. A nice hop bitterness kicks in on the finish, great lingering flavors on the palate.

10 ounce sample from the Horse Brass Pub in Portland, OR. It’s amazing that it took this beer 6 years to acquire 10 ratings. Aroma is rather mild with light caramel and light fruity hints. Mildly metallic, too. Transparent amber body with an off-yellow head that leaves decent lacing. Starts a little fruity and sweet, before it becomes chewy, caramelly, and toasted with maltiness in the middle. Finishes with decent roastiness and some metallic hops. Pretty tasty.

Somewhat fruity, dark fruit, nutty nose, a little toast, roast and earthy hop characteristics. Pours dark brown, auburn and shit. Nutty, fruity, dark fruit, a little tropical, dry, earthy. Nice mix of flavors. Dry finish, Beer is somewhat thin.

Bomber from Capital Market. Deep amber/ruby in color upon pouring. Fairly subdued nose with a little dark fruit coming through. Mild earthiness up front with quite a bit of dark fruit. A bit of hoppiness, but mostly malts and dark fruit. Very balanced easy drinking strong ale.

Lagerboy (2221) - British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 31, 2011
Clear dark amber with a fading tan head. Aroma of caramel and dark roasty malts, which are nicely balanced with a generous amount of hops. Medium bodied, also some fruit and nuttiness. Slow bitter finish. Nice stong ale. NFL (Not For Lagerboys)

22 oz bomber purchased online at Letspour.com. The pour is a hazed golden orange, with a wisp of an off white head. The aroma is sweet and chewy caramel, tangerine citrus fruit, and a round full dark fruit. The taste is caramel malt, resin, blended with big tangerine bitter hops, and sort of a husky finish. The dark fruits carry the long finish. The palate is medium bodied, a bit of an oily mouth feel, and the lingering bitter dark fruit finish. The big flavors make this feel more alcoholic than it actually is. Nice enough.

Ruby brown. Cherry and honey on the nose. Sweet with tree bark and raisins. Sweet but lacking something in the middle. Maybe it’s too dry. Has lots of oak.
