Bottle. The pour was a clear medium brown with some reddish highlights and a large (3-4 finger) light brown frothy head that had great retention, reducing to a med cap and having good streaky lacing. The aroma was of a dark bread malt, floral hops and a sweet doughy yeast with notes of toffee, dark fruit (plums, figs and overripe grapes) and a mild nuttiness. The taste was very malty with a nice toffee sweetness from the onset, becoming fully robust with a bold dark fruit presence and a mild hoppiness towards the finish. The flavor lasted an average time proceeding the swallow with a good fruity maltiness and a slight alcohol warming sensation left to linger. Mouthfeel was just under medium in body with a dry oily texture and a ticklish carbonation. Overall a fully robust and flavorful brew that possessed a nice light sweet fruitiness, which worked perfectly along with the slight hoppy presence...

Love the way the English style hops come through with this attractively priced strong ale. Appreciate the alcohol restraint to a level of ’just’ 7.0 abv making the 22 oz bottle perfect for an enjoyable session of sipping. Not overly sweet as some strong ales can be. Excellent balance and a pleasant creamy mouthfeel. Need to try more offerings from this brewery!

Bottle shared by Ferris at RBWG: Poured a reddish orange with off white head. Aroma was sweet malt. Taste was earthy with some sweet malt. Didn’t work well with my palate.

22 oz. bottle shared by Ferris. He had a boatload (RV load?) of these after stopping by the brewery en route to RBWG, so they were a mainstay in the Fart Dungeon, hotel, and everywhere else throughout the week. It pours a clear deep copper color with a small off-white head that settles into a ring. Notes of peanuts, toasted malts, leaves, sugars, a bit of grass and cardboard. Light-medium bodied, with low carbonation and a toasty, earthy mouthfeel. It’s fine, but not a particularly exciting style.

Bottle shared with in a hotel room. Many thanks to Ferris for this one. Hazed reddy copper coloured pour with a lasting loose off white head. Aroma is toffee apple, treacle, woody brown sugars. Flavour is composed of sweet brown sugars, thin, sticky toffee pudding, little apple. Pretty boosty with not much pay off. Palate is thin, sweet, , moderate carbonation. Little woody and cardboard in the finish.

Bomber to taster (shared with the Mrs; thanks Ferris). Looks solid; a mostly transparent chestnut with off-white head. Smells maltyvwithvnotes of grain and toast alongside some mild hops in the background. Tastes like it smells with notes of burnt toffee. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied. Unoffensive, but underwhelming.
