10oz pour @ Horse Brass. Pours black, with small tan head. Spotty lacing. Aroma is fantastic-- dark cherry and toasted malt. Flavor is the same-- not like couch syrup at all-- a nice subtle black cherry that hides behind a wall of smokiness. Espresso and cherry on the finish; moderate to low carbonation, long aftertaste. Reallllly good brew. dfinney23 (3255) - Houston, Texas, USA - JUL 17, 2012
Great cherry aroma but it gets lost in the taste. A usually love smoky/burnt flavors but something here wasn’t working for me that well. Still a solid stout. idedek (157) - USA - JUL 6, 2012
Lovely black color combined with a great cherry aroma. The taste is not good a bit of maltiness with a HORRIBLE fake cherry taste. The finish has a lovely bitter chocolate finish. Could be outstanding if not for the fake cherry taste. zizzybalubba (1862) - Raleigh, North Carolina, USA - MAY 6, 2012
On tap at Henry’s 12th Street Tavern in Portland, OR. Pours black with a light khaki head. Aroma of bitter coffee and dark chocolate with a healthy amount of toasted oats. Smoky malts and espresso come through in the flavor but not even a hint of cherry comes through (perhaps overwhelmed by the smokiness). Medium to full bodied. Actually a really nice stout but completely misnamed as far as I’m concerned. bb (9241) - Alamo, California, USA - MAR 28, 2012
Draft. Blackish beer with a brown head. Light roast and light chocolate aroma with light fruitiness. Light cherry and light chocolate flavor with toffee and light roast. Medium bodied. Cherry and light roast lingers with light chocolate.

On tap at henrys. Pure black a medium brown head. Sweet coffee nose, roast. Sweet, coffee, light fruit, dry and very earthy. Ashy. danielcurtis81 (1519) - San Diego, California, USA - SEP 13, 2010
Served from a growler from Bottleworks. The appearance is dark brown without too much head but a micro brown one. The aromas are full of black cherries with some roasted malts in the background. The flavors are as full with black cherries, some heavy roasted to burnt malts at times, and very light espresso beans. A really nice brew. mcberko (17205) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 29, 2010
On tap at Bottleworks, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of cherries and roasted malt. Flavour of potent cherries upfront, with the latter half revealing flavours of roasted malt, a considerable smokiness and wood. Interesting creation here. beersearcher (2382) - Glendale, California, USA - JUL 28, 2010
Really big hit of cherry on the nose. First taste is almost too smokey. Very dessert like. Nice balance but very bold. Nena (963) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAY 14, 2010
Black, light beige bubbles. Has a nice rich cherry cordial aroma. The flavor is much the same with a charred stout character, though not in excessive quantity. The cherry is rich and aromatic and not medicinal at all. I very much enjoy the combination of berry fruit character with the chocolaty roasty stout notes.
