On tap at henrys. Pure black a medium brown head. Sweet coffee nose, roast. Sweet, coffee, light fruit, dry and very earthy. Ashy. danielcurtis81 (1519) - San Diego, California, USA - SEP 13, 2010
Served from a growler from Bottleworks. The appearance is dark brown without too much head but a micro brown one. The aromas are full of black cherries with some roasted malts in the background. The flavors are as full with black cherries, some heavy roasted to burnt malts at times, and very light espresso beans. A really nice brew. mcberko (18583) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - AUG 29, 2010
On tap at Bottleworks, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of cherries and roasted malt. Flavour of potent cherries upfront, with the latter half revealing flavours of roasted malt, a considerable smokiness and wood. Interesting creation here. beersearcher (2382) - Glendale, California, USA - JUL 28, 2010
Really big hit of cherry on the nose. First taste is almost too smokey. Very dessert like. Nice balance but very bold. Nena (963) - Seattle, Washington, USA - MAY 14, 2010
Black, light beige bubbles. Has a nice rich cherry cordial aroma. The flavor is much the same with a charred stout character, though not in excessive quantity. The cherry is rich and aromatic and not medicinal at all. I very much enjoy the combination of berry fruit character with the chocolaty roasty stout notes.

dark, dark brown beer with a beige head, which has good retention. smells like black cherries! A yummy beer with a smooth palate. Some might be put off by the amount of cherry flavor, but I enjoyed it. Dark chocolate flavor as well. A good beer to serve with ice cream. The higher abv is undetectable. Delicious. On tap at Henry’s. Pours very black with a dark beige head. Incredible cherry aroma, perhaps some raspberry there also. I’ve had cough syrups that taste weaker than this beer. It is syrupy sweet but it still has a big, big berry flavor. This is a really fun beer. HighWine (959) - Whalezbro, Illinois, USA - JAN 13, 2010
Tap at Taphouse Grill in Bellevue, WA. Dark brown pour with beige head. Nose is chocolate cherry candies. Taste is a good balance of dark cherry and roasted malt. Would have loved some chocolate in here. gracefullypunk (667) - Portland, Oregon, USA - DEC 7, 2009
Pours a deep brown black with minimal tan head. Aroma is wonderful, a fresh cherry with a hint of chocolate. Unfortunately, taste doesn’t measure up, as it is rather medicinal, with a cough syrup like ending. acblue (91) - Seattle, Washington, USA - OCT 24, 2009
Deep black pour, big tan head. Wonderful aroma of black cherries and malt. Very natural aroma betrayed by very artificial flavor; almost medicinal. Decent, but not as good as promised by the first impression.
