GABF 2006. The beer has a CRAZY mousse looking head that could be eaten with a spoon. Black body. The aroma is sweet chocolate silk pie and graham crackers. Mocha. The flavor is rich chocolate silk pie. Creamy. Sorta one-dimensional. Rich and extremely full mouthfeel. Too one-dimensional, but still was quite good. jsquire (4496) - St. Marys, Ohio, USA - SEP 18, 2006
Out of a growler at the ’06 RBSG. Very dark beer with a foamy brown head. Sweet dark malt nose. Very rich, smooth beer with burnt caramel, coffee, chocolate and dried fruit sweetness. Excellent sipping beer. BuckNaked (1230) - Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA - SEP 1, 2006
RBSG DC 2006: Deep brown-black with a medium sized, tan colored head. The aroma is pure coffee, mocha, and grapes. Taste is dry cocoa, strong vanilla/oak tannins, alcohol, but the richly bitter roasted malts really come through, figs, prunes, and finishes somewhat sweet. ryan (3186) - Beltsville, Maryland, USA - AUG 17, 2006

Sampled at RBSG 2006- Grand Tasting. From the growler. Pours coal black with a dark beige head. Chalky, in fact, almost dessicating. It is sweet and roasted like drinking burned rice krispies. Delicious and filling. jasonp (1581) - Ashburn, Virginia, USA - AUG 4, 2006
RBSG 2006 Grand Tasting. Jet black with ruby edges and a beige head. Chocolate, floral/grassy hop character in the nose. Flavor has notes of dark roasted malt, alcohol, chocolate, caramel, plum, raisin and a welcome ton of hoppage. Full, round and creamy with moderate carbonation. Excellent. Why haven’t I moved to the Pacific Northwest yet? SpringsLicker (3642) - Tennessee, USA - JUL 30, 2006
Sampled at the RBSG ’06.
Black with a tan head.
Complex sweet aroma with loads of roasted malts balancing out the caramel.
Solid hop bitterness in the flavor that finishes with a dry palate. Alcohol that is well hidden. TheBeerGod (6224) - Newport News, Virginia, USA - JUL 23, 2006
Growler at RBSG 2006. Black with a light almost a maple-syrup-on-lightly-burnt-pancakes aroma. Some chocolaty and roasted malt compliment to that as well. Taste is malty, roasted, dark fruits, molasses and chocolate. Body is rich and full with a big carbonation feel to it. Finishes with more roasted malts, chocolate, molasses, and a touch of alcohol. Nice one! jimmack (1223) - Nutley, New Jersey, USA - JUL 20, 2006
