Poured at walnut. Has small amount of head that dissipated quickly. Pours a clear golden color. Medium amount of lacing. Crisp and citrusy.
Growler thanks to Smoky. Pours slightly hazy copper with quickly settling white head. Aroma is mildly hoppy, resinous, citrus, mild malt. Flavor is strong citrus, mildly bitter, resinous hop finish. Soft carbonation, light body. Mild. NVBeer232 (467) - Reno, Nevada, USA - JAN 10, 2005
Amber body with and off white head. Citrusy nose. Flavors are mainly of hop resin, but there’s a little bit of malt in there to balnce it out a bit. Jazzy carbonation. Crisp, bitter finish. Ernest (7660) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JAN 26, 2003
UPDATED: JAN 20, 2006 Draught, Walnut Brewery.
Head is initially small, frothy, white, mostly lasting.
Body is dark yellow.
Aroma is trace to lightly malty (cookie), trace to lightly hoppy (grapefruit), with light notes of chemicals and diacetyl.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, unclean.
Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation.
It’s been three years since I’ve sampled this, so I kinda thought I’d be a little more forgiving on this one (previous rating, 2.6), but man, this is some foul stuff. The usual absence of aroma Walnut is known for, but some unpleasant notes are along for the ride. Dirty aftertaste. The mouthfeel and appearance are nice, but that’s where that ends.
