Draft at the brewpub served in a pint glass. Nice a drinkable for a 9.5% brew. Peppery, clove finish takes away from the taste of the brew. CaptainCougar (7133) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - JAN 6, 2010
On tap at the brewpub: Pours a transparent bright golden with a small, clingy-lacing froth of white head. Aroma of sweet wheat and candi sugar with some biscuity Belgian malt and a touch of clove spice and banana esters. Starts with pretty good fullness and lots of residual malt sugars with a fairly authentic Trappist yeasty character with a good balance of peppery clove and light fruitiness. Finishes sweet and slightly warming. A pretty good Belgian-styled tripel.
