An amber beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and caramel, leading to a lightly bitter finish. Papsoe (25054) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - FEB 7, 2008
(Bottle 33 cl) Clear, deep golden with a white, lacing head. Aroma of caramel and overripe fruit. Medium body with dry caramel accents, perhaps a little fruit and a dry, lightly bitter finish with a whiff of sulphur. Very clean and straight. Funny fact: this comes in a fresh Danish beer bottle, complete with the word "ØL" in the glass bottom. Weird. 290108 jercraigs (11087) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 22, 2016
2016-05-18. Crisp golden yellow body with a small off white head. Aroma is mild, sweet light malt. Flavour is sweet malt, buttery touches. Smooth average bodied palate, soft carbonation. 6/3/5-6/3/12 On tap at Wanaka Beer Works, Wanaka, NZ. DuffMan (10772) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 29, 2005
The beer highlight of my recent New Zealand trip was finding the microbrews from Wanaka Beerworks. All are terrific. This one pours a clear dark amber. Hoppy nose with an excellent fruity-hopped palate on a solid malt base. Excellent. JoeMcPhee (10137) - Toronto, ON, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 2, 2005
330 ml bottle BB 30/08/05. Pale copper colour, slightly malty aroma as well. Light apple fruitiness. Flavour is bready and toasty. A touch of fruitiness and some mild spicy hops. A bit underdone compared to the other two beers I had from this brewery.

UPDATED: JAN 21, 2014 Another poor beer from Wanaka, two tried and both had pretty glaring fermentation problems. This is supposed to be a Vienna-style lager but there’s zero Vienna malt presence. Instead you have strong DMS, sweet and sour grains, syrupy malt extract texture combined with rough seltzer water carbonation. Seems like unfinished kit beer. a strange combination of porridge, musk lifesavers and mango juice. quite sweet with a fruity finish. weird but not bad mkel07 (6549) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - AUG 7, 2010
330ml bottle. Cloudy copper colour with barely any foam, only a skinny edging of white bubbles around the edge of the glass. Looks a bit flat. Sweet malt aroma that is enticing and inviting and leads into a mildly bitter flavour that is a bit unusual at first but after a few sips it grows on you. chinchill (5395) - South Carolina, USA - JAN 14, 2014
(“Vienna style all malt lager”) 5.0% 330 ml brown bottle purchased in Wanaka and consumed a week later in Dunedin NZ. BB date of ? 2014.
Pours clear deep amber with a small off-white head. Some lacing.
Aroma: Sweet malts with plenty of caramel and a bit of vanilla. A hint of floral hops.
Flavor: very tasty, malt forward beer. More flavor and especially malts than a typical Vienna lager. Enough hops to cut the sweetness and leave a very mildly bitter aftertaste.
Feel: medium-light body; semi-dry finish; smooth; good, medium carbonation.
O: a tasty malt bomb that I recommend with the caveat that it is not true to proclaimed style.
