Dark black beer. Nice milk chocolate aroma. A bit of roast, toast, and coffee in the nose as well. Sweet full-bodied palate with a very creamy texture. Flavour is also sweet, rich chocolate, some toasted malts and a touch of herbal character as well. Another great brew from Wanaka. motelpogo (8031) - Plzen, CZECH REPUBLIC - JAN 14, 2004
decent enough. pretty black, some milo sweetness, some kahlua in the aroma. not much sign of hops eczematic (1326) - Adelaide, AUSTRALIA - JAN 12, 2004
fullbodied verging on syruppy, chocolatey verging on over-sweet, with some dry coffee and powdery cocoa in finish. simple but ok. Linc (740) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - JUL 16, 2002
UPDATED: JUN 24, 2003 Not particularly dark for a porter. Flavours of chocolate, nuts and caramel come through, quite pleasant, if perhaps a little too sweet. Interesting hop aroma and flavour. If you told me this was a bock I'd not disagree. Kaya161 (1142) - San Diego, California, USA - MAR 11, 2002
Nearly black in colour. Chocolate nose. Medium bodied, syrupy mouthfeel. Sweet, slightly burnt flavour. I would categorize this as a sweet porter. Decent, but nothing special.
