This is a middle of the road black lager. It pours nice with a creamy head. Aroma is of coffee and brown sugar. Taste is smooth crisp and bland neither the malts nor the hops really shine through. Some subtle chocolate notes and molasses are present. This beer seems to be marketed for the masses. merc7186 (3160) - North Tonawanda, New York, USA - OCT 16, 2013
A: Dark Opaque hue, Creamy Brown Head, light Lacing
S: Dark Roasted Malts, Coffee
T: Coffee, Dark Malts
M: Decent Carbonation, Full Bodied, Coffee lingering
Overall, smoothe flavor and transition but drops off on the back end. A decent black lager with a coffee kick. mabel (10136) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 29, 2012
[4706-20120818] Growler. Smoked roasty sweet grains aroma. Dark brown body with a quick foamy off-white head. Roasted dry wood flavour initially followed by sweet roast earthiness. Full body. Interesting to sample. (6/3/7/3/15) 3.4+

Sampled at Kramer’s Campground Brewdown 2012. Pours a deep brownish black body with nice brown head. Aroma is sweet caramel malts, roast and espresso. Mouthfeel is medium to thin with notes of sweet roast, light caramel malts, light chocolate and toffee.

2012-08-18. Black body with a small tan head that fades. 3+ Dry dusty malt aroma with a light ve3getal touch. 6+ flavour is similar, dry dusty malt, light bitterness. Just okay, the malt profile is too dry and roasty for me, I’d like to see a bit more sweet malt to support it. Growler, Campground Brewdown 2012

Growler, Campground Brewdown. Medium beige head, cola black body. Aroma is medium sweet, roast, some coffee, caramel, light chocolate. Taste is moderately sweet, roast, caramel, some coffee. Light-medium body, some stickiness. GT (10001) - San Diego, California, USA - AUG 21, 2012
Growler at Campdown Brewdown. Poured a clear, deep cola brown. Nose is roasted and spicy with big malt presence. Taste is neutral, roasted. Palate is clean, thinner, sessionable. Ok. jb (3533) - Rochester, New York, USA - JUN 23, 2012
From a growler Brian picked up at the brewery. This stuff is awesome. Dark roasted notes in the nose along with coffee. Palate is rich and well balanced. Simple but great.

22 oz bottle. Pours a nearly pitch-black with a coffee-colored head. Smells strongly of chocolate and tastes like it too. I’m really impressed with this - a bit thin and one-dimensional with the hard-hitting chocolate flavor, but it’s really good. zach8270 (4021) - Henrietta, New York, USA - NOV 27, 2011
(bottle - 22 oz) Deep chestnut brown pour with a thin but lasting tan head. Very mild coffee and roasted malt aroma with a subtle nutty hint at the end. A touch of chocolate malts as well. Roasted malt and chocolate combine in the flavor and are balanced rather well. Some mild sweet notes on the aftertaste. A bit thin-bodied but pretty tasty.
