Can’t believe this brew finds itslef in the 12th percentile (rated 2017-07-19). It’s a little farty, but since when do you bash a beer for that? The aroma of the malty methanes come through nicely in a bouquet Mr Lapew would approve of. Oui oui my chérie... The flavor is none too strong but definitely present and in a good way. Rich mouthfeel. Hoppy, malty luksusowa liquibread worthy of more praise!

Aromat słodowy, słodki, pojawia się też dość słaba nuta chmielu lubelskiego. Słodkawe, niska goryczka, trochę mdłe.

500ml can pours a clear dark golden color with moderate but disappearing white head. Aroma is what I expected from a Polish pilsener: grainy, grass, wheat, corn and a hint of floral hops. Taste is slightly sweet with a dry aftertaste that is drier and almost metallic. Body is light with average carbonation and a crisp mouthfeel. Every now and then I find a good European mass-produced lager like this on sale $1/0,5l can) and wonder why no American company produces anything like it at the same price point. As a Chicagoan, I’m comforted to see General Pulaski’s portrait on the can, even though I have no Polish heritage. If a new American brewery tried to make this, they would replace Pulaski with a dragon, skeletons, the grim reaper, or something more trendy.

Barwa bursztynowa z czerwonawymi odcieniami. Smak słodowy, kwaskowy, lekka goryczka, następnie masełko i popcorn. Warka 17.08.2016

Creamy white head stayed on a translucent, heavily carbonated, copper body. Malt & yeast aroma. Medium bodied, finely carbonated, sticky on the palate. Very sweet, malt flavours, floral, mild hops, over ripe fruit & spicy, Typical East European style of over strong , sweet, dark lager.

Tried this one after quite liking normal Warka. Bottle. Gold with a white head. Aroma of toast, raisins, apples, burnt toffee. Light to medium bodied, moderate carbonation. The taste is not so great - dried fruit, stewed apples, a burned toffee note that’s presumably the roasted malt, a touch of cqrdboard. But there is some bitterness at the finish and it’s clean enough. Not my sort of thing but by no means poor for its class.

Oh boy. Aroma is sweet, corn, earthy hops, apples, light booze, unpleasant. Appearance is amber, light tan head, clear. Taste is sweet, malt, booze, earthy hop, corn, bready, grainy, not good at all. Mouthfeel is light to medium body, light carbonation, light sweet boozy corn aftertaste. Overall, yikes. Terribly terribly wrong, even for a style I have little to no respect for in the first place.

Here we have yet another fairly generic, slightly ABV souped up euro lager. It pours a clear basic amber yellow, which doesn’t tell you much. The smell is fairly bland, kinda fratty but with just enough barley / malt whif to make you there there is a little more there. Sadly, there isn’t really. The taste is a clean, kinda goopy and syrupy mix of corn and paper and hay. It isn’t the worst, but it’s far from being the best. Still, I like where it’s going at least and it is drinkable, which some of its brethren are not, but it’s still not really worth seeking out except for the dedicated. Good for blaring new age ooh and ahhs and chowing down on reheated pasta
