COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Dayton’s Stomps – Burkhardt Company began making furniture in the late 1850’s. They were most famously known for their hand-crafted chairs. The most coveted of these chairs denote ornate faces based on Greek and Roman mythology. Today these chairs are highly sought after by collectors.

To celebrate our 20th Century Dayton artisans, we designed a special beer. A Baltic Porter appropriately named Baltic Argonaut. So sit back in your favorite chair, Stomps – Burkhardt or otherwise, close your eyes and sip a Baltic Argonaut. Then dream about a time long ago in Dayton where myths would become legendary.

This Baltic Porter is black in color with a dense tan foam. The aroma boasts a bouquet of roasty, coffee notes with mild caramel sweetness. The malt character features lots of dark malt flavors like roast, chocolate and vanilla complimented by warming alcohol notes and hints of nutty, toffee, bready flavors.

500 ml can poured into a snifter. The beer is an inky black with a khaki head of foam. The aroma has rich chocolate cake, sweet coconut and vanilla barrel notes, and a warm boozy character. Sweet and rich. Big body with moderate carbonation and a slick mouthfeel.

Tallboy can from Savor Growl. Been looking for this for a while now and it was pricey... $7.99 for a can... guh. Anyway: black pour, medium tan head that recedes quickly, little spotty stick. aroma of milky, roasted malts, coffee. tastes are caramel, vanilla, fudge - but not too sweet. get the nutty and toffee also. palate is gulpable medium milky - joy here is how easy drinking it is for the abv. love everything about it except price.

Tap @ Bodega - Columbus: Dark brown syrupy look with a sweet chocolate aroma. Sweet choco aroma. Full bodied with a super sweet finish. Cigar needed with this beer to mellow it out.

Refrigerated 16 oz. aluminum can (pricey) poured into an English pint glass. Black with medium beige head. Aroma is dark chocolate, medium body, medium carbonation, and thick small-bubble lacing. Taste is rich milk chocolate. Good Baltic Porter.

Location: 16 oz can purchased at tap room Appearance: Dark black brown. Decent head of small mocha bubbles. Nose: Rich roast malt. Earthy. Herbal. Leather. coffee Taste: Burnt sugar, tobacco, caramel, bittersweet chocolate. Vanilla. Body: Full and creamy. Very big mouthfeel. Parting thoughts: A very impressive imperal porter. Costly. Only seen at the taproom in cans. Worth the time and effort to find.

This beer is a brown-black color with a medium beige head that diminishes steadily to an outer ring. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of roast malt, coffee and dark chocolate. Medium to full body with flavors of roast malt, earthy coffee, dark chocolate and brine. The finish is malty with a fudge and coffee aftertaste. Good beer all around.

Thanks to Steve for this gem. 16oz can chugged in about 12 seconds. Sorry, phallusU, but this beer is above a 4.0. It’s not trying to be an imperial stout or Porter, but a Baltic Porter. Showcasing notes of tobacco, dark fruit and cigarette butts that you’d find on the floor of an Eastern European factory, this beer hits all the notes for the style. Thin mouthfeel. Very true to style. I like this.
Possibly the best beer ever made in Ohio.

Poured from a 16oz can to a teku glass. Jet black, with a tan, small head. Lot’s of lacing left on the glass. Aroma of coffee, dark malts, doughy bread, vanilla, and chocolate. Taste is sweet chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, vanilla, and bread, with slight bitterness. Medium body. Zero detection of alcohol. Have had a couple of beers from this somewhat local brewery, and was not too impressed - however this beer delivers. Highly recommend to others.

16 ounce can, canned on 01/13/16. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch and a half tan head. The head stays around for a long time, and there’s a good amount of lacing. Aroma is nice, the brew smells like bittersweet chocolate, roasted malt, coffee and some berries. The taste is similar to the aroma, but there’s also some burnt/charred malt and caramel noticeable, too. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it’s creamy and coating with moderate carbonation. I think it’s a pretty good Baltic Porter, hopefully Warped Wing will make this again. I’ll have to pick up some more while I can! $7.59 a single can, the 2-pack sells for $14.99.
