Appearance: Dark brown black. thin layer of mocha bubbles.
Nose: Roasty dark malts, chocolate, coffee, vanilla, boozy, oak, roasted nuts.
Taste: Boozy. Bourbon barrel influence evident. Sweet vanilla and chocolate, medium roasty. Coffee elements and a hint of smoke.
Body: Medium to fuller, smooth with light carbonation.
Parting thoughts: Excellent stout with a great bourbon barrel finish. All the big and boozy flavor elements blend well into a focused whole. I’d like another. Or two. Thanks.

Bottle shared by the brewer at Darkness - nose is whiskey and vanilla. Very toasty and boozy. Nutty finish. Lowe1983 (1664) - Dayton, Ohio, USA - DEC 19, 2017
Pours a black color with a tan head. Aroma is strong of bourbon, oak, roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, and alcohol. Sweet with bourbon, oak, and vanilla right away. Finishes bitter with the roasted malts and coffee. Decent warming as well. RRistow12 (994) - Lewis Center, Ohio, USA - AUG 31, 2017
Tasted from can. Pours black with light khaki head. Aroma is whiskey, cocoa, a little licorice, coffee. Flavor with some smokiness, whiskey, chocolate and coffee. A little thin on mouthfeel. Hides ABV well but would like some more body to it. Overall an average BA imperial stout.

On tap at Giant Eagle in Grandview: Ashy malt, little booze/bourbon. Soy, bittersweet, dark fruit, little tobacco and woody. Dry late with rubbing alcohol. Fairly well put together, but not to my imp stout tastes.

Can shared at Belgian Chimipalooza, thanks! Very dark brown with a beige head. Aroma of big bourbon barrel, oak, vanilla, chocolate, booze, caramel and fudge. Flavour is heavy sweet. Full bodied with alcohol warmth in the finish and soft carbonation. mjohnson4245 (2) - - MAY 7, 2016 does not count
Extremely good beer. Smell of heavy chocolate and whiskey. Taste follows with a good body to the beer. Extremely well done! drsordr (2969) - Loveland, Ohio, USA - MAR 30, 2016
Draft sample at cappy’s pour opaque dark brown with moderate tan head. Nose straight up whiskey. Taste like whiskey as well. Some roasty malt and vanilla, but mostly whiskey. jsquire (4722) - St. Marys, Ohio, USA - MAR 25, 2016
Very dark beer out of the can(!) with an initial foamy beige head that shrank to a lasting ring. Big molasses and bourbon nose. Smooth mouth feel. This is a boozy BA stout, especially as it warms, but not in a bad way. Tons of bourbon, wet wood, vanilla, chocolate, brown sugar, and a bit of green bitterness. It may be that it is the end of the night, but this is a very nice nightcap. Rich chocolate and huge booze.
