Pours light brown or more like medium brown, moderate head. Nutty-toasty nose, some caramel there, sweet toffee and milk chocolate. Beautiful hoppy mouthfeel with a decent nutty-malty base. Light toast and creaminess. Medium body, good balance, works great with these BBQ dishes that Warpigs is famous about.

Alengrin (6013) - BELGIUM - AUG 25, 2017
American style brown ale by Warpigs, sampled at Gents Bierfestival. Thick, creamy, pale beige, lacing head, dark and misty burgundy-hued bronze robe. Aroma of candied fig, chestnuts, dried banana, toffee, cocoa powder; soft fruity flavour, hints of dried fig and peach, sweet with a balancing sourish edge, slick and creamy mouthfeel, caramelly and nutty malt body, well rounded but in the end dried by a dash of confident, spicy hop bitterness; some sourishness lingers. Decent example of the style, but I prefer brown ales with a more outspoken cocoa- and hazelnut paste-like effect.

Brown with massive soapy head. Aroma and flavour have loads of nutty dark malts. Not extreme but very well balanced and easy to drink.

19/VIII/17 - bottle @ Gents Bierfestival - BB: n/a (2017-1278) Thanks to the Belgian ratebeer crew for sharing today’s beers and celebrating my 10K!

Clear amber beer, small creamy irregular beige head, unstable, bit adhesive. Aroma: sweet, caramel, vanilla, some chocolate. MF: soft carbon, medium body. Taste: little bitter in the start, caramel, bit watery. Aftertaste: sweet touch, caramel, grains, some chocolate, soft roast. Not bad but a bit too thin.

Thank you for sharing RB Crew! Sampled draft @ GBF 2017. Dark brown, huge tanned head. Nose is low herbal basic cacao, roast, mocha,… Taste is odd powdery herbal, cacao, instant chocolate milk, powdery, mediocre chocolate. Body is easy herbal cacao. So/so but I suppose that is apropriate for a Brown Ale.

Tap @ Warpigs. Good looking, dark brown body with a small, lacing beige head. Nice, rich aroma of malt, caramel, chocolate, bread and moderate roasted. Flavor is nice, quite strong, but balanced with lots of dark malt, distinct dark chocolate, mild caramel, toast and solid bitter hops with some pines. Well balanced in flavor, balanced body and long lasting malty and bitter aftertaste. A really great in your face brown ale that suits the barbeque just great.

Tap at the brewpub. Poured a clear dark brown with a long lasting thin white head. The aroma is sweet caramel malt, light dry roasty, ashtray, nutty, some fruit and hops. The flavour is moderate liquorice bitter with a dry roasty light fruit liqoriice hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.
