Bottle. The pour was a medium crystal clear amber/orange with an average sized (1-2 finger) rocky head that dissipated quickly and had poor lacing. The aroma was kind of sweet with a strong grain malt, a mild floral hop and a sweet moldy scented yeast that had a very mild hint of caramel. The taste was malty sweet and mildly acidic in the beginning and finished slightly bitter with a sweet caramel malt flavor and had a mild alcohol tinge at the end, The flavor stuck around for a decent amount of time after the swallow allowing for further enjoyment of the malty sweetness. Mouthfeel was light in body and mildly dry in texture with a prickly carbonation. Overall a brew that somewhat is in alignment with the style, although it was a little light in flavor for a typical Märzen.

On tap @ Prost! Pours clear medium golden with thick lacy white head. Aroma is lightly toasted malt, typical marzen notes are present but very light. Taste is likewise - nice standard caramel marzen, but pretty light overall.

Good German malt aroma from a crystal clear yellow/gold body with a foamy white head. Good Oktoberfest flavor with a creamy body and good, somewhat assertive, earthy hops. You can taste the higher alcohol here and it matches the beer well. Lingering malty and spicy hop aftertaste. Very good Oktoberfest.

A great oktoberfest, coppery amber with a small white head. Aroma is malt and caramel. Taste is nutty malt with a hint of honey and hop in the finish. Very similar to my favorite version of this style, Paulaner Wiesn, with a value price and a bit more cereal flavor. Considering I could get a case of the Warsteiner Oktoberfest for less than $1 a bottle with the rebate in 2015, I am a fan. Sadly, I have not seen it around at my favorite distributors in 2016.

This was poured into a mug. The appearance was a golden yellow transparency about it. Carbonation could be seen rising at a moderate pace. A cap of a white head sustains and dissipates at a nice pace. Thin mild lace. The aroma takes in sweet biscuity/bready thick maltiness flowing into semi-sweet to underscored grassy bitter hops. Light honey and floral. The flavor revels in the balance of it all. Nice sweet smooth malty biscuit aftertaste. Sly semi-sticky finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a great sessionability about it . Low carbonation helps bring about smooth sweetness. Overall, why argue with the Germans about if this is any good or not. For the style, one knows it’s top notch.

0.33 l single bottle from Lifesource in Salem OR $1.79 Pours a nice slightly deeper gold colour with a nice sized thick and frothy off white head. Pleasant enough caramel/toffee creamy aroma of malts. Slightly grassy hops. Taste similar to the aroma with aspects of toffee and burnt toast... Nice well carbonated mouth feel..very nice not watery but very drinkable. Actually this is a fairly decent mass produced version of marzen.

Stein plus a pint at the Bohemian Biergarten. Clear amber appearance with an off-white head. Aromas and flavors of caramel, toffee and nutty malts linger to a light hoppy finish. Smooth, soft and well-balanced overall.
