Little more flavorful then Premium Verum. Has a plesant aroma, taste, and look. Readily available, and much more classy then the average "run of the mill" beers. Good refreshing beer. DerBiermeister (586) - Birmingham, Alabama, USA - JAN 26, 2004
The aroma is not very noticeable. The beer is hefty. It looks delightfully regal, its bottle proclaiming it the Queen of the Beers in German. Its flavour and palate are full and satisfying, making this a beer of substance, and, quite possibly, my all-around favourite German beer. The Dunkel (dark) Warsteiner is better than the Premium Verum. becksgenius (110) - Illinois, USA - JAN 23, 2004
Good with a steak or something of the like. Very simlilar to the premium verum. hints of roasted malt perhaps. Not great but certainly good. beastdog75 (364) - Brick, New Jersey, USA - JAN 13, 2004
Tastes as if they added dark food coloring to the regular Warsteiner. Roasted notes are very light in this beer, and altogether simply tastes like the Warsteiner Premium Verum. Low bitterness in the finish. Easy to drink, but a bit watery. kathouse (1893) - LAS VEGAS, Nevada, USA - JAN 10, 2004
Had to pour into a different glass to get a good off-white head of foam going. Quickly dissipates. Body is dark brown and clear. Aroma is extremely light. Smells a little like pears and a little less like malt. Very tiny bubbles of carbonation add some to the mouthfeel, but that's all there is. Tastes watery, more sweet than bitter. Leaves a clean after taste, but doesn't encourage me to have another. Next?

Bottle. Nice dark brown with tan head. Sweet malty aroma. The taste didn't quite live up to the appearance and arome for me. It was a bit watery and didn't have all that much flavor. It was ok I guess, but certainly not outstanding in any way. CaptainCougar (7133) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - JAN 5, 2004
Draft: Pours a rich dark brown with a thin tan head. Musty hop and earthy malt aroma. Body starts with some grainy off-flavors and finishes with a more authentic German flavor and some sweet, almost floral European hops. This could definitely use some more balance and fresher ingredients. sdfink (30) - Aiken, South Carolina, USA - JAN 4, 2004
Good aroma. Full bodied. Medium brown (deep) with adequate foam. Slightly sweet taste. Foam dissipates quickly. stoutosaurus (157) - Clinton, Mississippi, USA - JAN 2, 2004
Not good, but not too bad. Won't have this one again. A little sour and very thin body. MartinT (9880) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - DEC 30, 2003
Listless roastiness amongst restless veggies...Pumpernickel crumbs drowning in weak, watery fizz...Campfire embers several days after being doused by heavy rains...
