Dark brown in colour with a thin white head. Fragrant cherry/cranberry aroma with a perfect amount of maltiness. Light-bodied; Mild flavour, a bit of sweetness in the taste. Aftertaste mild as well, not showing much character. Overall, smells and looks much better than it actually is! I had this pint on draught at the Old Toad in Rochester, New York on 20-October-2003.

Quite uninspiring really, not very strong flavour and chemical aftertaste. I was disappointed.

Poured a dark brown with almost no head. Aroma was faint and of malt. The flavor was smooth, but a bit thin. I had hoped for a more robust beer. Not bad, but I probably won't get it again.

Pours a deep reddish brown, with a loose off-white head. It exhibits good head retention and leaves a nice lace on the glass. Very hoppy, floral aroma with a hint of malt. The classic "beer" aroma . The flavor is rather light, with some hop bitterness on the finish with some roasted flavors. A slight metallic edge in the aftertaste gives me a somewhat "stale" feeling about the flavor. The mouthfeel is very light, while the large bubbles of carbonation give it a harsh edge in the mouth.

Decenct dunkle.Kind of typical/very smooth/nice buzz.Nice dark brew but the flavor can seem off a little off at times(soapy?)

Murphy (1759) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - SEP 26, 2003
Looked good, a solid brown slightly cloudy color. Taste was very lagerish, and the sweetness was well balanced. Other than that, this beer was not that good. Above a lot of weak lagers, but no andechser.

This is a light bodied dunkel and pours with a light smalll head. This is beer just does not have the complexity for me.

Nice-looking reddish brown beer. Lighter nutty aroma. Malty flavor. Relatively thin. Enjoyable.

Good dark beer. I think I still like the Premium Verum better, but this one is nothing to laugh at.

not much of a head, a great dark beer though. lacks the coffee flavor most dark brews have, and thats what i find appealing about this one. although i do like the coffee flavor, its good to find a dark that doesnt have it. this beer is good out of a bottle, and even better on tap. great effort
