Can shared with HogTownHarry. Pours a clear light yellow with a small white head. Looks like apple juice mixed with water. Aroma of sugar, sweet malt and yeast. Way too sweet. The flavour is super: super watery and super sweet! Tastes like sugar water. Ugh! Avoid.

UPDATED: AUG 24, 2005 Can (500ml) shared with blankboy. Poured a hazy, very light yellow, very bubbly to start, huge foamy, almost soapy white head, surprisingly almost no lacing. Smell was strongly of icing sugar (guh!), lemon oil, chalk, floral air freshener, grain (wheat/flax), some stale hops, metals. Flavour was harsh malt - that confectioner’s sugar again - , sour lemonade, mixed grains and minerals. Mouthfeel astringent, metallic and ultimately liefless. Nasty.

Hoppy aroma with hints off flowers. Clear yellow colour with good head. Bitter sweet hoppy flavour. Fizzy palate.

Overall this is a very average beer. Nothing to write home about; somewhat bland taste, and dominated by carbonation. I would consider this a step up from your Budweiser’s, Miller’s, Michelob’s, etc.

If you want a lager thats boring yet superior, this is the one. I’d classify this as the elite Budweiser. It’s still offers little. Try it, but it’s not worth the money with beers like Yuengling around... that is... if that’s what you like.

Bottle. Really an overrated beer; there’s plenty of better stuff in Germany, even the bigger breweries. Hoppy nose but mostly sweet malt flavors, and too much carbonation.

I never got this beer. Always thought of it as one of Germany’s worst, but it is treated like it’s this venerable classic. It’s drinkable, but over carbonated which makes having more than a few a chore for me.

Nightfall (1307) - Hamburg, GERMANY - JUN 30, 2005
Nice golden color. Nice and light Pilsener. Goes down smooth with ease and leave a dry but enjoyable aftertaste. Above average , not bad at all.

Bought a mini keg of this for the superbowl in 05. This went down smooth with a sweet flavor and slight dry after taste, very enjoyable.

Berlin - Pours gold with a decent head. Fresh wheat/hops nose with a similar slightly bitter taste. Not bad at all for a round beer.
