UPDATED: JAN 24, 2014 i did not detect any skunk aroma on this beer. pours a brilliantly clear pale gold. stable fluffy white head. sweet, worty, honey aroma. flavor has a nice floral hop note from the use of light stable hop extract. hop extract is a great alternative for imported beer, however, the aroma may suffer slightly. clean finish and light, highly palatable body. could drink this by the liter. perfect carbonation. awesome.

Why isnt this available in Croatia ? I certainly dont know. Its a good pils. Brought by a friend from Germany. Pours a yellow-going-gold, with a nice and firm looking head. The aroma is malty and a bit lemonic. The taste is quite similar, fruity and malty for the most part. Also, its well hopped. Could use a bit more body, but its ok. Seems to be good when fresh, and this sample was. Still, nothing groundbreaking.

Looks like your boring, standard light-gold lager. Exciting, forward aromas of hop and grain, plus some pleasant skunkiness/cats pee. Nice, dry mouthfeel. Lots of grain in the flavour department, with a growing bitter-hop presence towards the middle and finish. Looks are deceiving: Warsteiner is significantly better than your stardard light-gold lager.

Very pale straw colour. Maizy grainy grippy flavours like eating from a grain silo. Could chew on this all week. Not bad but to grippy for me.

UPDATED: MAY 4, 2006 1/2 liter can. Pours a pale straw with a 1 finger fizzy head not great retention moderate lacing. Little aroma...some detectable grainy sweetness over slight herbal tones. Wet mouth feel, some bready malt, some herbal hops, finishes fast and clean...seems like an average German Pilsner to me...slightly better than domestic mega suds and almost as indistinct.

(12 oz bottle: Trader Joes in Pacific Beach, CA) Ugh. Can I stop there? Must I drink another sip? Does "Ugh" tell you all you need to know? This is another subpar German import, the flavor dominated by grain and a light, but unpleasant hops that shows some moderate bitterness in the finish. Slight hops aroma in the nose, but the aroma of the malt is bordering on unpleasant. At least its not skunky, though thats little solice. Bright yellow color and fully clear, which allows the multitude of rapidly rising carbonation bubbles to put on quite a show. It looks like carbonated piss, but theres just something mesmerizing about a yellow fizzy beer with lots of bubbles. The white head is kind of one big sticky clump that holds together and gradually shrinks to a thin, but complete layer over the beer. In fact, the head sticks together so well that it doesnt leave even a trace of lacing on the glass. I vow to never even consider buying this beer again.

Bottled. Pale yellow, small white head. Aroma is maizy and ricy, with hints of hops. Taste is mainly maizy and hoppy. Dries your mouth. Big wellknown brew but poor beer in my opinion.

Bottle. Golden clear color with small white head. Little aroma of hops. Flavor was small tone of hops with short finish. Drinkable as bar alternative.
