Well, a really good beer only comes around every so often. This was a great ale all the way around. Too bad it is seasonal. It was very rich, with just the right bitterness. Nice color, and great finish. This was the best 'brown' I have ever had, in my humble opinion it knocked 'Newcastle' right out of the water. I know that is blasphemy for all the Newcastle lovers out there, but tough shit. alexanderj (3605) - Branson, Missouri, USA - NOV 25, 2010
Bottle; poured a dark cola brown. Off white head. Very nice aroma. Caramel, cola, cocoa, with a nice sweetness. Flavor similar, but not quite as quality. J_man (1017) - Tustin, California, USA - APR 13, 2015
12 oz. bottle from Smith’s grocery in Park City, UT. This really does have an aroma of nuts and also a woody component. Crystal clear medium brown/amber body with a light tan head. More nut flavor in the taste long with some vanilla sweetness. This is not a sweet beer like a lot of other nut brown ales. Hops are appropriately subdued but present. Well balanced, full flavored, and right to style. Probably one of the best nut brown ales I’ve had. IndianaRed (4869) - Boise, Idaho, USA - APR 17, 2016
Bottle Pours a clear redish brown. Thin quick light tan head. Malty nuttiness and a smith palate. Quite nice. The 4% ABV is also nice. SuperDave (1932) - Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA - NOV 20, 2006
12 oz bottle. Part of a Wasatch variety pack. I enjoy this more than most widely available brown ales. Nutty malt aroma. Flavor is light hops, malt and chocolate.

Toasty aroma, with some caramel. The toasted character is not as dominant in the flavor; more balanced with biscuit, roasted, caramel, and sweet malt flavors. Some herbal hop flavor. Itzjerm (3056) - Taft, Tennessee, USA - MAR 5, 2013
This is rated as being a session beer. As such it is surprisingly good. A bit bitter. A bit thin but carbonation is used to counter this. Aroma very nice thin fading head. For a low gravity brown pretty good

Poured into a mug, the appearance was a brown color with a finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated at a nice pace. Mild stringy lace.
The aroma was nutty, caramel, chocolatey, and a touch of honey. Subtle crisp spicy hops at the end.
The flavor blends the sweet to the nuttiness and shapes in some of the spiciness to round it all out. Nicely blended aftertaste of all of the previously mentioned tastes. Smooth nutty finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a good sessionability about it. Good carbonation and the ABV felt fine.
Overall, pretty good brown ale, thanks Steve. wlajwl (6946) - Quad Cities, Iowa, USA - FEB 12, 2017
Aroma is fruit, nutty malts and a hint of maple/honey. The flavor is nutty malts, fruit, a hint of dark fruit/tobacco and a slightly tart/mostly smooth finish. dchmela (3078) - Orlando, Florida, USA - JUN 24, 2009
12 oz bottle courtesy Douglas88. Pours a watery brown with a thin tan head. Big caramel malt, chocolate aroma with a touch of hops. Smooth malt taste with nice notes of chocolate and nuts and a touch of hops. Nice beer.
