Bottle. Clear brown with an average off white head that leaves ok lacing. Aroma is malty as expected. Toffee, caramel, hazelnut, and toasted malts. Taste is sweet malts, burnt caramel, and nuts. Slightly thick and lingering sweet nutty flavors. rosskyle (769) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAR 17, 2017

Strange looking pour.... Reddish copper, almost no head to speak of. Decent nose of nuts, wood, cherry. Mostly flat and dull feel. Rich roasty malts, woodiness, molasses, nutty finish. Meh. BlindGuardianco (104) - - FEB 22, 2017
Have not had a doppelbock in a while, pretty close to flat, very Malty but my first impression was sweet very sweet, I liked it perhaps a bit light and sweet for the style but I will give it another go. StefanSD (2468) - Ouray, Colorado, USA - FEB 1, 2017
Bottle. Very dark brown color that glows red when held to a light, head is khaki colored, small, and long lasting. The aroma is on the faint side with sweetened well roasted grains, minerals and dust. The taste is similar to the aroma with dark roasted chestnuts, diluted molasses and leather. The palate is full and a bit oily. Overall: very nice--the world needs more (good) doppelbock lagers.

Pours a dark amber, bronze color. Sort of an odd color. Barely any head, barely covers the surface of the beer. No head means no retention, but very slight lacing.johnnymusky (1004) - Minnesota, USA - NOV 12, 2016
Aroma is nutty. Almonds maybe. Maybe some figs. Raisin bread. Sweet.
Taste is sweet, maybe a touch of alcohol. Syrupy. Molasses, figs and raisins. Almonds, a touch of chocolate.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied. Syrupy, silky almost. Don’t know where the alcohol went.
Overall, this is really good. I don’t really care so much for bocks, but I amuse myself when I see them. I say to myself "Bock bock bock" like a chicken, and then I buy them. But I’m not disappointed, this is a great one. I would recommend his, and I would "bock" er buy this again.

Darkish appearance; thinish head.
Full bodied taste w/some sweet background.
Overall: Nicely warming.
Nice. Recommended. Diablokev (181) - Lakewood, Colorado, USA - NOV 1, 2016
The aroma is of plum and maybe stale bread. The appearance is a deep purple with a thin white head. The taste is of plum with a coffee end. A little heavy, but overall an eye opener for sure. mmmbeer (1429) - Austin, Texas, USA - OCT 23, 2016
12 oz. bottle poured into a shaker- poured a 75% nontransparent when held to a light source darkened brown color, off white head about the vessel for a head and several very small frog eyes with it, light lacing as it went into my tummy. Aroma of cheap booze and brown sugar. Hits the mouth with a medium body, malt is sweet but is awash in alcohol, some plum and hardwood on the backend. Kind of all over the map, but it’s what I got.
