Growler shared by Doug, thanks man cbkschubert (2901) - BFE, Arizona, USA - JAN 14, 2011
Appearance: Poured slightly hazy golden with a small white head and some lacing
Aroma: Wow, fresh jalapeno’s and lots of them. It smelt like I had just cut open a fresh jalapeno and stuck my nose in it
Taste: Creamy mouthfeel of caramel and peppers. After that initial swallow, the slight burn starts to kick in
I wasn’t sure about this, but I really liked it. Just like eating spicy Mexican food, you can’t get enough.
On tap @ 1702 - Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a small off white head. Nice layered lacing. Aroma is light grain and chili pepper. Flavor is lightly sweetened malt and light jalapeno. Very little heat. Smooth finish, medium body. Probably the best chili beer I’ve had. hellbilly (3247) - scottsdale über alles, Arizona, USA - JAN 16, 2011
on tap in park city 7/21/10.
pale copper tinted golden with a white head and a ton of lace.
it smells immediately of capsicum... followed by green peppery heat, vegetal sweetness, malt, florals and a faint earthy/savory/umami thing going on.
the flavor has some spiciness but the pepper feels sweeter and juicy rather than hot. the finish is full of black peppercorn which lingers in the aftertaste with some earthiness.
creamy and smooth are balanced by the light spice. nice. 6.5/3/6.5/3/15/3.3+ JPDurden24 (1675) - Chandler, Arizona, USA - JUN 23, 2012
On tap at Whole Foods, definitely is a jalapeño aroma, has a golden pour with a white head. Taste is hot with a burn down the throat. Fairly good, not an easy drinker though. Iphonephan (7199) - Jackson Hole/McLean, Virginia, USA - JUL 16, 2013
On draft at 1702 in Tucson AZ. Pours a clear gold with a white head. Jalapeño nose. Quite a kick but smooth underneath the heat.

Pour on tap at Northern Lights Rare Beer Fest, hazy golden pour with white head, aroma brought notes of big pepper, jalapeno, some orange into a bit of yeast, dough, some bready and biscuity notes. Taste was a mix of bread, dough, biscuit into a bit of grain, some peppery notes without the heat, some slight herbal hops, finishing dry. Not bad actually. Draft out of curiosity at the West Side brewery. Clear gold color with bubbly carbonation and just a white ring around the edges. The aroma is chopped, fresh jalapenos. The flavor is pepper with a lingering, light burn. The base beer is lightly sweet. Pretty nice pepper beer to me. douglas88 (9572) - Portland, Oregon, USA - JUN 25, 2010
Growler from the Brewer’s Co-op. Pours a clear golden hue with a medium white head. What an interesting nose; huge very distinct jalapenos, very vegetable-like and nice, smells like a pepper plant . The flavor is a creamy malty smooth flavor, but large hot peppers in the finish. Lots of full jalapeno in this; the vegetable smoothness and hot fire spiciness. Massive congrats to Ray and the crew for having the balls to brew this. I’d say the drinkability is not near most due to the heat, but it is well done. fata2683 (2176) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - JAN 15, 2011
on tap at 1702(14Jan11) pours pale gold with a medium to thin white head. Aroma is light with some grassy malts, hay and vegetation notes in the vein of bell pepper. Flavor is where the pepper comes into play. I was eating a tomato, spinach and feta pizza so the salty/oil and vinegar of the pizza was cut nicely by the pale malt and creamy wheat flavors with just a hint of pepper spice, a little bit of heat at the end with lingering green pepper skins. Interesting and highly drinkable. troyc (2869) - Illinois, USA - MAR 24, 2011
[Tap] Sampled on tap at 1702 in mid-January. Clear, golden pour with a small pillow of white head. Spicy pepper aroma with general pepper heat in the aroma. The taste is of jalapeno, green peppers, vegetables, grassy notes and light caramel. Persistent pepper heat throughout the flavor grows more intense in the finish. Decent mouthfeel and palate. Pretty good for the style. Definitely one of the better pepper beers I have had.
