My boyfriend, having heard several current and former Utahns recount tales of the state’s truly insane liquor laws, decided to buy up every kind of beer from Wasatch available at Spec’s. It’s a great thing to support Utah brewers! Don’t expect too much from them though; this was my favorite of their offerings, and it’s just "quaffable, but hardly transcendant," to quote "Sideways."
From Dec 2006
Poured from 12oz bottle a hazy orange gold with a small head of foam that shrank quickly leaving a just some spotting on the surface. It *does* have some nice lacing to it though.
The smell is very pumpkin like with hints of nutmeg a cinnamon.
The taste at first sip is a mix of the spices I noted in the nose along with a bit of sourness in the background. Further sips see no change so it's a consistant taste that I'm sensing. Pretty good. The only negative I can say is that the finish is very watery.
Bottom line: A nice brew for the season that is interesting enough to warrant a try.
Thanks to Wastach for this ample! stevoj (5432) - Boise, Idaho, USA - OCT 11, 2017
Nitro pour at BitterCreek. Clear and crisp, thick creamy head. Not normally a fan of this style, as it tends to rely heavily on the spice, this one takes more of the pumpkin. Earthy aroma and taste, butternut and pumpkin flavors. Mild bitterness. Super creamy consistency. More fruit (pumpkin) than spice. Well sone! Ernesto987 (6050) - Arizona, USA - DEC 19, 2016
Another subpar overly spiced garbage IPA. Sweet and unbalanced, spices dominate and take over everything but sweetness. JPDIPSO (6262) - Wauwatosa, USA - NOV 30, 2016
Light amber color with a diminishing, beige head. Definitely has all the pumpkin pie spices covered: ginger, cloves and cinnamon are all accounted for. Hints of pumpkin and dough. If you like spices, you should enjoy the scent. Sweet flavors with vanilla and cream. Dry bitterness in the finish. A near dessert type brew, albeit not a lot of heft. I could see this on the table during the holidays. 7/11

Clear amber and copper coloured body with a faint tan head, about a centimetre tall. Aroma of squash, allspice, coriander seed, grain and a bit of brown sugar. Light to perhaps Medium-bodied; Strong spice and squash flavour with some light sweetness and a touch of funk along with some yeast and bready characteristics. Aftertaste shows some lighter spice flavours, a touch of caramel and a very light grain and malt flavour with no squash or larger body at all. Overall, a good spice-based beer that is very light and easy-to-drink. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Cash Wise Liqours in Minot, North Dakota on 04-October-2016 for US$10,99/six pack sampled at home in Upstate (New Paltz), New York on 24-November-2016.

Bottle - Pours an amber-orange with thin white head. Aroma of pumpkin, medium roasted malts/ pie crust, nutmeg, cinnamon. Flavors of pumpkin pie in a bottle. Pie crust, nutmeg, cinnamon, they’re all there. Mild hops and a floral finish. Very pleasant. Andrew196 (1974) - Katy, Texas, USA - SEP 8, 2016
Bottle to glass - hazed amber, fizzy unstable head. Aroma is spicy, nutmeg, pumpkin pie, cinnamon. Similar taste with a lingering finish, some clove in there now. Thin, a hair too carbonated. altonbrownd (5897) - Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA - JUN 3, 2016
On tap at Snowbird. Light orange body with slight head. Nose is malty and spicy. Taste is similar of malts and spices and pumpkin for sure. Nice heavy beer. PorterPounder (8226) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - MAR 23, 2016
Amarillo, Tx - Party Stop - Georgia St - 12 oz bottle. Deep, dark, slightly murky copper pour, nice long lasting off-white head. Aroma has a nice dose of pumpkin pie spice and nutmeg. Flavor is very pleasant and not over-spiced or candy-like. Nice nutmeg notes, a touch of cinnamon, some brown sugar notes. Mouthfeel has a decent thickness to it. One of the better pumpkin ales I have had, even though I know it is out of season, held up well.
