Bottled. A hazy dark amber beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has notes of malt and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of fruits, alcohol, malt, bread, and straw, leading to a dry, bitter, and bready finish.

Pours deep red almost mahogany with white head. Only light malty aroma. Flavor smacks you with wonderful malt sweetness. Clean finish, a reallt nice deep bock. I have not liked much from this brewery, but this isgreat.

kidmartinek (4999) - austin, Texas, USA - JUN 16, 2011
Too clean, like most German beers tend to be. Pours a strong amber-tinted brown, with a watery like consistency and little to no head. Has a faint caramel malt aroma and bitter hoppiness. Full taste. A little sweet. Mostly malty. Has a nice bitter finish that’s on the lighter side. A good strong bock that hides the alcohol completely. Nice job, now go get drunk. Clean grain finish with a little molasses-like sweetness.

keepersj12 (3112) - Sicklerville, New Jersey, USA - MAY 19, 2011
Nice malty fruity aroma from an amber pour with a small white head. The flavor has caramel and some dark fruits. Nice finish. When did Utah allow 8% beers?

an 8% utah beer, how did they slip this past those strange mormons? .. . Pours a dark maple syrup, some sparse lacing .. . bean squeaking .. . i don’t wanna go to jail, my wife will leave me, my daughter will become a prostitute and i’ll end up on death row sharing a cell with Butch McDick!

Not the best dopplebock I have ever had- not as rich as the Germans, but it is passable and quite drinkable.

CaptainCougar (7133) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - APR 26, 2011
12oz bottle: Pours a clear deep copper amber with a stringy-lacing froth of white head. Has a lightly sweet toasted caramel malty nose with some rye character and light phenols. Starts with average fullness and well-dissolved carbonation with a light caramel and butterscotch sweetness giving way to a peppery hop bitterness, some doughy yeastiness and a drier warming finish. Could be a little smoother and hide its alcohol better, but a decent attempt at the style.

crajun (1226) - , Texas, USA - APR 23, 2011
nice bock! pours caramel amber w/med head. aroma is malts slight roast and caramel and slight alcohol. taste is similiar - small amount of bitter hops balances the sweetness and there is atouch of alcohol at mid sip. good bock - will add to rotation...
