Clear deep red - amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth and semi dry. Decent fine carbonation. Rich malts, creamy with a little unsweet toffee. Mild molasses. Light smooth finish. Not much else here but certainly delivers the malts!
UPDATED: JUL 12, 2011 Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of blutt59. Pours a clear amber with an off-white head. Sweetish roasted malt in the nose and a little caramel. Quite full-bodied, plenty of roasted malt, a little pumpernickel and burned caramel. A subdued bitterness in the finish but quite some warming alcohol. 220611 fiulijn (21019) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - OCT 30, 2012
Bottle from Whole Foods Henderson, NV
Dark amber color, clean. Very light and simple caramel aroma. The flavor too is simple, basically caramel, with a hint of cereals; moderate sweetness; lox bitterness.
A drinkable beer, but not a Doppelbock to remember.
