(12oz. bottle, courtesy of travita) Pours a clear amber body with a small off-white head. Aroma of toasted grain, toffee, rye, and nuts. Flavor of nuts, toasted malt, caramel, and light cocoa. Dogbrick (12936) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - DEC 17, 2010
Bottle at Freakin’ Frog in Las Vegas. The beer is a murky mahogany color with a medium tan head that dissipates steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel, molasses and dark malt. Medium body with flavors of earthy malt, caramel and dark fruit. Faint hops in the background. The finish is sweet and malty with a ripe fruit aftertaste. Decent overall. crossovert (12670) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 9, 2011
12 oz bottle. Born on: 03/24/11.
It pours a lighter reddish brown with a foamy off-white head that quickly dissipates with no lacing.
Smell is weaker and more like a brown ale than a doppelbock.
The flavor is also more reminiscent of an ale than a lager. It is roasty and chocolatey, far too much to be considered a doppebock.
It is an okay american dark lager.

clear brown, smooth reddish head.
nutty and boozy aroma.
flavor is hoppy, flowery, slightly tart, strong. slowrunner77 (11938) - Reno, Nevada, USA - OCT 6, 2014
"pretty roasty in the aroma and flavor, and a touch thin for the style and an 8% brew. reminds me of mammoth double brown ale...like a bastard brown/dopplebock, which isn’t bad, but left me wanting a little more. fairly sweet lingering finish."

Bottle. Raisin, caramel and bready malt aroma. Brown with small head. Sweet raisin bread malt and and lightly bitter herbal flavor. Body on the lighter side. hopscotch (11051) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - MAR 15, 2008
Bottle... March 08 Tampa Bay Tasting... Clear, dark copper lager with a mid-sized, creamy, off-white head. Fantastic, never-ending retention. Lactic, vinous nose with prominent, awkward, berry essences. Full-bodied and creamy with ticklish carbonation. Sweet, fruity flavor delivers a truckload of unidentified berries with plenty of alcohol warmth and bitterness. Moderately bitter, boozy finish. Strange brew... maybe past its prime. daknole (11044) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - JAN 3, 2009
Bottle. Amber pour. Aroma is very sweet with notes of caramel, sark fruits and spices. Flavor isnt what I expected to be honest. Sweet and malty with a heavy dose of caramel. Not bad, but not what it could of been.
