Wasatch Winterfest is a rich amber ale with caramel malt flavors and a large hop presence. Brewed with the finest Northwestern pale and caramel malts then generously hopped with Columbus and Amarillo hops. Crafted in the spirit and style of the Sierra Nevada Celebration. Inspiration? "This new seasonal was brewed to warm you through the cold winter months! Our Winterfest Ale makes a wonderful compliment to an epic day on the mountain, and the perfect companion around the fire. Its our toast to Utah."

bottle @ Calandros / Baton Rouge LA --- enjoy by 03/01/17 --- Aroma of malt, hops, and light spice. Clear mahogany color, beige head that sinks to a full cover, sheets of lace. Taste is malt, medium carbonation, and a burst of medium hops. A good balance between the malt and hops. Simple, strong, to the point, good stuff.

From a 12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear mahogany with a thick ecru head. Aroma of toffee and tropical fruits. Flavors of pine and caramel. Moderately bitter finish. Tasty.

12 oz bottle. Pours ruby amber with a small off white head that quickly goes to a thin film that laces the glass.

The aroma is subdued - some slightly roasted sweet chocolate and toffee malt and a little fruit.

The flavor is sweet and toasted caramel toffee malts with some dark fruit and a roast finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth carbonation.

Overall, a nice winter warmer.

12 oz. bottle BBD 2/29/16. Pours a thick, well retained light beige head, with slight lacing, over a clear dark copper (SRM 19) body......nose is heavy caramel malts, hints of cocoa, heavy citrus, pine, balance to the hops.......taste is mildly sweet with caramel tones, hints of raisin, light molasses notes, becoming bitter with pine, resin, mild citrus notes, balance to the hops.....mouth feel, medium sticky body, slight alcohol warmth, moderate carbonation, slight astringency. This is a hop dominated, malty and easy drinking beer reminiscent of Old Ales in style. BJCP 7/3/14/4/7

12oz bottle from central ave liquor with commonmac during March madness. Dark ruby brown with medium off white head. Malty boozy slight hop nose. Sweet, slight spice, reminiscent of a traditional old ale. Balance is good. Avoids the metallic pothole some of these fall into. Nicely done, Utah.

Dark with a thin head. If heavy in hops is you're thing you'll like it. Personally it's not got me. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Best by 2/26/16; consumed on 12/24 and 12/25/15. Deep amber/ruby, cloudy, coaxed a 1 inch tan, creamy, bubbly head with an agressive pour into an Imperial Irish pub pint. Light carbonation. Clumpy, sticky lacing as the head recedes. Aroma of hops (slightly citrus) and malt (faintly chocolate). Substantial mouth feel: slightly thick feeling for the style. Mild, but slightly bitter, initial taste, sweetly malty, with a more bittering in the middle and the finish. This is a very easy to enjoy beer. No spectatular hops flavor, or really any other notable dominating falvor; more of a malt body. But, it is still enjoyable to drink. I would have expected more of an alcohol presence in a "warmer". Even so, a very tasty beer.

Fresh but substantial notes in the aroma: characteristically fruity Amarillo hops, grapefruit, a bit of peach, some molasses, candied orange peel, a little pine, and dark caramel. The alcohol becomes a factor toward the bottom third of the glass. Sturdy mouthfeel, with mild carbonation and a medium body. The taste leans bitter, with some dark-caramel sweetness that maybe obscures some of the freshness brought by the hops. Otherwise very enjoyable and tasty -- and yes, warming.

12oz bottle 6/19/15 (Courtesy of RSRIZZO)-38 in snifter-Pours brown with a small tan head. Aroma of malt, caramel, and toffee. Taste of the same with dried fruit. This medium to full bodied brew is not bad but a bit lacking.

Bottle poured a clear brown hue w/ thick creamy beige lasting head and sticky lacing. Moderate biscuit aroma. Initial flavor is light sweet w/ a bold bitter finish. Tastes are piney hop, caramel, dark toast, peppery rye, and brown sugar. Creamy mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
