Tap sample. Poured a golden color with an average white head that mostly lasted and produced good lacing. Good balanced aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Good bittersweet flavor with a good bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Worth having twice.

Could be waaay hoppier. It isn’t a bad hop flavor but it is a pretty weak brew.

hopdog (12673) - Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 11, 2005
On tap at the Water Street in Delafield location. Poured a medium amber color with a small sized white head. Aromas and tastes of caramel and citrus.

deyholla (11759) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUN 6, 2012
On tap at the Delafield location. Pours a clear gold with the slightest orange hue and a near white head that dissipates to the edges and laces slightly. Aroma has some earthy grassy hops with backing grains and a bit of sweetness in the finish. Flavor begins with some earthy grains but also hs some earthy pine and grassy hops.

opaque orange, wispy white head, fresh citrus hop aroma with a light floral quality, a bit thin, lots of hop flavor leads to a long bitter finish, slightly sweet malt tries to add balance but falls short to allow the hops to be the whole show,

picking up a nice sweet grapefruit to the aroma, caramel sweetness does a better job balancing the hops

DuffMan (10457) - the land of bitumen, beef & beer, Alberta, CANADA - OCT 5, 2013
On tap @ the brewery. Hazy dull gold-amber. Aroma is weak peachy hops, light sweet malts. The palate delivers the same, with an earthy unpleasant undertone. Just not very good.

arminjewell (9687) - East Lansing, Michigan, USA - NOV 10, 2010
Pours hazy yellow/orange with white head, aroma is nice pine, caramel, touch of citrus. Taste up front is bitter pine, leading into sweet citrus and caramel, finishing nice and bitter. Nice surprisingly hoppy pale ale!

UPDATED: JUN 19, 2005 On tap at their downtown Milwaukee location. Light copper appearance, white head, decent lacing. Aroma has some decent floral notes with a touch of citrus. Flavor has a delectable citrus bent to it with some underlying nuttiness and spruciness. Decently thick mouthfeel. One of the better ones from my sample at Water Street.

Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUN 11, 2007
On tap at Water Street - Delafield. Poured a clear medium amber with a 1" creamy beige head. Aroma picked up sweet caramel and floral notes with pine resin and a touch of herbal hoppage.. rather faint overall. The flavor was carried by pine resin and grapefruit bitterness which paired well with the sweet caramel base.. higher bitterness with a sweet resiny finish.. tasty. Nice balance with the bitterness a little sharp at points.. a tad abrasive at the finish. This would make a solid session brew.

Strykzone (7430) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - JUL 16, 2007
Saaz hops seemed to dominate the flavor. It is a very hopped up beer but were not over powering. A slightly different take on the old pale ale theme.
