COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A perfect marriage of the gutsy hoppy character of an IPA with the complex malty backbone of a red ale. Ruby red in colour with a thick off-white head, perfectly balanced combination of hops and rich European malt with a wallop of hop flavour and aroma character from American and Australian hops. First batch at 5.4%, subsequent batches at 5%.

Draught at the brewery. Pours a hazy ruby amber, with a moderate off-white head, which lasts well and leaves decent lacing. The aroma has plenty of caramel, with pine and red fruit hops. Moderate pine and sweet orange hops up front move into rich caramel malt in the mid-palate. The caramel lasts into the finish, where it mixes nicely with fruity hops. A good red IPA.

On tap at Black Bunny, Alexandra Headlands. Pours rusty red with good lacing. Taste is more malt- than hop-driven. Interesting enough to seek out the imperial version.

Bottle - pours red with a small white head. Aroma is caramel, bit of chocolate and floral hops. Taste is mild upfront then a growing bitter floral finish.

Schooner on tap @ Websters, Newtown. Red/Brown beer with solid white head. Faint aroma of floral hops. Bitter taste, some earthy hops present. Light fruit cordial sweetness at the end. Nice enough, good for a couple.

On tap at Wayward, pours a hazy amber with a small off-white head. Aroma brings out bready malt and a touch of hop resins. Flavour is quite dry, with bready malts and bone dry hoppiness. Not the most interesting beer but its palatable.

On tap at The Happy Wombat. This stuff is delicious! Floral aroma like an IPA but the smooth malt of the red, try it now!
